On my e91 the b12 was a massive improvement over the se suspension i had originally. The car was firm but comfortable and handled rough roads with ease. The ride was never jarring and the handling was very predictable. Which can't be said for my floaty f30.

Sold the car to a mechanic mate over the road and he much prefers it to his A4 SLine. Says the a4 suspension is firm but uncomfortable and for long trips he takes the e91.

So I have ACS springs on my 335d. I am assuming these will pair up fine with B6 shocks. B8 say they are for lowered suspension. Yes mine has been lowered, but its the standard height of an E90x now.

I am seriously thinking of doing this. Has anyone done it?

Lorcan said according to Bilstein it doesn’t make a difference which ones you use with ACS springs.

With the ACS springs and rear ARB, there is little difference between comfort and sport, so I am not bothered about having one mode.

Can anyone direct me to some info on how to either code the adaptive suspension out or I think I may have read somewhere that there is some hardware that does it?

I have heard that if you code out adaptive, it can’t be coded back again.

I tried b6 with acs on the 330d, My opinion, they seem good initially but once the honeymoon periods over, the lack of rubber insulation between the spring and damper platform and the odd bump stops/ secondary springs the b6 inverted damper has to use combined with very little suspension travel, soon starts to grate, for me wouldn’t want to go there again.

For x drive you’ll need to mount the front accelerometer sensors to the b6 dampers, the b6 dont have the bkts to mount them stock

That's correct, as B6 and B8 have the same valving. They are not as good as AC Schnitzer dampers though. Our demo car will be visiting Awesom in Irlam near Manchester soon if anyone in that area would like to try it.

Obviously you would say that, why are they not as good as ACS?

Ride quality. Not knocking Bilstein, I sell Bilstein and have a Bilstein B12 kit on my own car (not a BMW). They handle great, but they are a firm ride and AC Schnitzer ride quality is superior. We've seen this many times on customer's cars who have gone for the cheaper Eibach/Bilstein setup. In fact we've just changed a customer's D3 Alpina from Bilstein damptronic to AC Schnitzer sports suspension for the same reason. AC Schnitzer is the premium option. If you would like to try our demo car to see for yourself, you are welcome to do so. It will be at our dealer Awesome in Irlam, near Manchester, week commencing 11th Feb.

When I thought that one (or more) of my Ohlins EDC deletes had packed up I considered having the EDC coded-out. Contacted with Kevin Bird who offers this service and he confirmed that EDC can be coded back if required.

As it was, my deletes were fine. It was one of the accelerometers that had come loose. New cable tie - problem solved.

don't know how you've mounted the sensors but I used the stock bkts from the old edc dampers with jubilee clips and that worked very well, you can just see the clip in the pic.
