440 B58 MPPSK w/MHD Dyno Numbers
Let me start by saying that I have been a fan of bimmerpost since before purchasing my car. This community has help me understand my car
Here's my contribution ..... I had my car dyno tested at World-Motorsports in Torrance Ca....they have a full AWD drive-in wind tunnel setup. The shop had 5 Porsches, 3 Lamborghini, and 1 Mclaren 720s; I knew my bebe was in good company! After conversing with MHD over several weeks we agreed on a solution that would meet my desired goal! Keeping a reliable daily driver that would have some extra pep for the weekend cruises with friends. #wedrive
My car is an F33 B58B30M0 w/Mppsk; Goal was between 380-400whp. Rather than spoiling the fun ..... just watch the video ..... Follow us on Instagram @valleybmws for great content around the BMW community in Southern California! |

You are welcome but dude you are confused.
You can't have both MPPSK and MHD stage 1 tune at the same time, it's not like JB4. MPPSK doesn't add any power on top of MHD stage 1. Nevertheless impressive dyno numbers for only stage 1 93 octane tune. Quote:

The Mppsk is a two step process 1)Exhaust Muffler w/Pipes 2) DME Tune ... MHD is a tune on top/appended to the DME (in my case mppsk) settings. So I can keep my mppsk exhaust burbles setting and just change the performance curves. Either way I'm super happy with the results!

MHD overrides MPPSK maps so there is no extra power from MPPSK settings.
Also the benchmarks numbers you mentioned are crank HP not wheel HP and to be honest the dyno shop messed the numbers you can't get 444 wheel HP from just Stage 1. Quote:

You basically have all the MPPSK hardware but the MHD tune basically replaces the MPPSK software tune. MPPSK exhaust and intake kit does not really give much more power (a touch of top end with less back pressure perhaps). The MPPSK tune also uses overboost to get that low RPM torque bomb that subsides very quickly which is turned off on all flash tunes, from what I know, to balance smoothness and longer sustain midrange power. That 444hp on stage 1 on an AWD platform is probable closer to 370+whp with a 22% powertrain loss. A B58 (Pre-updated HPFP) Bootmod3 Stage 2 E30 car (Downpipe) makes 443whp/483lbs. A Comparable Car like the OP's is probably safely making 370-380+ whp.

This is not my car but a X3 M40i which is AWD and essentially mppsk..355/369.
This is on a very early mustang dyno which reads very low (usually 15-25whp lower) when compared to a dynojet but gives you a good comparison. I believe he is on 91 as well but i could be wrong. https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...36&postcount=1

That dyno reads very high. Which isn't a problem as long as you baseline, which you didn't do. I'd go back and do a run on stock. It's better to compare deltas than absolute numbers.

I, like most others here, think this is all messed up and meaningless.
MHD on top of MPPSK is like saying you have Windows 10 installed on top of Windows 7.... That's not how it works - the one overrides the other. MHD erases the MPPSK software from your car and substitutes it with MHD software. Yes, you still have all the MPPSK hardware benefits, but the MPPSK software is gone. (Of course you can reverse that.) The numbers presented are also very "brochure-like"... made to impress, but not really very true or at least not truthfully presented

This is my dyno video. Stock vs Stage 1 I gained 60hp/80tq. Most dynojets show 380-400whp on Stage 1 93 tune. Stage 2 93 is an extra 20ish hp and E30 is another 20ish on top of that.
