Which axle for Snow chains on Xdrive?
Hi
BMW service manager tentatively suggested rear (main driven) axle, but said he’d check. Yet to hear back. Any views? I have an “all square” set up 235/40 R18 in case that makes a difference... Cheers

May also be a reference to what tyre sizes are permitted. |

I'd say rear. Going on the principle that understeer is "safer" than oversteer, and why tyre companies always recommend fitting new tyres on the rear, rather than front (in a square set up). My logic would be the same in this situation.
