Price comparison sites
...are pissing me off.
Insurance renewal time. Have been on three of the above. I enter my details and the reg of the car on the compo site. Find a quote I like and go to the insurers site. Which then asked for the reg again. and dumps £50 onto the quote. WTF going on?

Part of the reason here is that the quote provided on the comparison is a "thin" quote, i.e. it doesnt include all of the information required and some assumptions are made.

Not part of the comparison sites. But I assume you given a-plan a call?
Their Thatcham office is effectively a brokerage and do some shopping around for you with their providers. a-plan = 01635 874646 I've used them for years and they always come out best and are mod friendly too |

For once, my renewal quote (with a claim in progress) is actually far cheaper via BMW Insurance and with a lower excess - I'll be going with them.

Just tried BMW insurance and they are within a tenner of the compo sites. So they can have my money.

I've just tried a-plan and BMW. A-plan came out pretty much the same as my renewal quote from LV (which was about the same as the comparison sites were saying).
However, BMW seem to want more customers at the moment as they've come out cheaper than everyone. Surprising as the quote from them when I first got the car a few years ago was stupid expensive. |
