F30 335i - What pads and rotors should I upgrade to?
My brakes are due for replacement soon. I want to consider swapping in a different rotors and pads than what the car came with. My car is a M-Sport with the normal brakes (Grey calipers). I want to do drilled and slotted rotors and better brake pads. Brake dust is not a concern for me. I want parts that last longer or perform better.
I want to buy parts from FCPEuro or similar and get this done at a Independent shop. Input from folks who have done this in the past would be very helpful. Any suggestion on what I should buy? |

I did my brakes last April and I too had an m-sport with grey calipers.
I bought the blue brembo single piston calipers for the rear and took all 4 calipers and had them painted porsche acid green. I went with oem blank rotors and m-performance pads. IMO, drilled/slotted rotors look good but aren't worth the additional costs for the "on paper" measurable performance you get from them. Overall, I'm not too impressed with the m-performance pads. They work well when they warm up, but I'm pretty sure I won't purchase them again. |

I've the M-Sport package so have the 4 pot calipers in front, but unsure if these can still be used if upsizing to the 370mm rotors (will just keep the 1 pot / 330mm for the rears).

Looks like I'll be sticking with 340mm front & 335mm rear rotors then

OEM brakes are good enough for daily driving. Unless there is a strong desire to create a specific visual appearance, larger drilled / slotted rotors aren't needed and can create noises serving as a source of continuous annoyances. These noises are normal as the pad meets the rotor surface with slots, dimples, or drilled holes.
M Performance kit with larger rotors looks great but the extra cost is a decision only you can make it. There are other brakes which provide incredible visual appearance (always nice to have) and phenomenal braking power (priceless in a dire emergency situation - but not needed for daily driving). Price: about $3K per axle. |

And you had to change to the 2 pot Brembo calipers to do this?

Not directly relevant, but I have had a terrible time trying to find 340mm rotor options, but I found this for those searching across manufacturers for compatible rotors.
