Coolant flush f30 n55

Looks like mix coolant to me. Car got repaired from a collision few years ago part of the repair had to do with the cooling system never bother looking at the coolant till recently that it look low. An notice it had a weird color. Automatically order new blue bmw coolant and did a complete flush check them pics out. Also changed block hose an went from plastic to metal flange w.e thats called. Btw my battery died while running the purge system so many times lol idiot I know. My 750ma battery tender is too weak for this battery. Left it charging overnight to see if I can get one more purge out of it with the new 50/50 mix.

Did it smell really bad? My E36 had green coolant in it. The coolant smelled horrible. Like a nasty cat urine kind of smell. I drained it all out, ran water in it for a few days, and then filled it with the nice blue. The X5 I just bought of course also has green coolant in it and the same nasty smell. Looking forward to that again. More of those jugs. I read somewhere that you're not supposed to mix green and blue as that causes some sort of chemical effect to occur. I don't know though. I wonder if that's what that smell is.

Not sure about the n55 but the b58 doesn't have a drain plug on the block. But if you pull the turbo line off it drains out.

Did you cut open the heater core?

I've been told there's a way to remove the core by bending a support bracket vs having to pull the dash

B58 parts it did not have a bad smell. Draining from turbo sounds like a hassle. I drained it from the aux radiator. Each drain I ran the pump. Untill it look kind of clear. They keep us confused with all these colors green, blue, pink. who knows if they all have equal protection or not. I’ll just keep using what the car originally came with. Also heard they are now using green! not sure how accurate that is. Or if they are just trying to keep us more confused lol. I’ll keep it simple if it had blue I’ll keep using blue even if it cost a bit more. Since it’s something your not really touching for a while.

F32Fleet cut open the heater core sounds wild lol. I just drained all of what was in there by running pump and adding water.
