Realoem shows that it requires 2, my car just looks like it has 1 on the lower side of the front auxiliary radiator though.

This is definitely a long shot I ran into the same issue on my 2017 440i. I am curious about how you got that repaired. I noticed my AC compressor turning on and off on its own. I wanted to repair the radiator, but need some bros to catch me if I'm about to do something stupid. idk did anyone with a similar problem figure out a quick fix?

This may not answer your question, but I did this for 2018 340i that did have the rock guards attached to the radiators, but wanted to provide more protection at openings shown. It was not quick as I had to take off bumper. The mesh I used was not as fine as the mesh at radiators.
