Hi guys,

Bit of an interesting one here I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on.

I had an error come up saying rear passenger brake light and indicator bulb weren't working and needed replacing.

When going to buy the bulb I was told the car was facelift LEDs and not regular bulbs when they ran my numberplate to find the right bulbs.

It's a 2014 435i so I wasn't convinced it was reading correctly on the system, but regardless I managed to get the bulbs and went to change them.

When changing the bulbs I saw the attached image.



It looks like the connecter has been cut and reconnected somewhat?

Is there any way to know if the car had LCI lights to begin with and then were swapped to pre-LCI?

I just switched mine to LCI off Ali express

I don’t see why anyone would’ve gone from LCI to pre-LCI, and the year of the car suggests it would have had pre-LCI lights from factory but the wiring suggests otherwise..?

These came with the new harness and resistors so I didn’t need to code it. Got them for 650 CAD
