Secured stage 3:
I got a good deal for this new carbon strut, 600 EUR postage included from germany. Best price online was 909 EUR, still a good saving. Now on to stage 1 and 2 Stage 2 is the most difficult, i'll have to have a shop do that for me.

I think that was a one time thing unfortunately, not sure why it was sold at this price, but the carbon strut was advertised as new and certainly looks like it is.
It's amazing how robust it feels while light at the same time, an interesting engineering piece. Anyway, looking forward to mounting this on my F30.

FWIW, my shop has confirmed this should fit F30/N55 (and a visual check confirms this), and they even have fitted it on an M2.

Parts are ordered but not mounted yet (all up to stage 4 as described above); we were waiting for the Quaife differential to be sent - which has taken a while - to do all in one day at my shop, was scheduled for next Wednesday but the diff isn't there yet, so it's going to be sometime in October.

if anyone is looking to do this i have most of the major components removed from a flood vehicle. no impact... i have the carbon fiber brace, alloy brace , and both left and right covers and most of the bolts removed. will consider shipping but it may be pricey due to the odd shape...available in south Florida. 954 826 1792

Has anyone tried to secure all the pieces with part numbers provided by Steve? Looking for updated parts list or point me to drawings. My resources aren't well developed for BMW yet so not sure where the best part reference guides are found.
These part numbers did not come up in a parts search: Guide Support bearing 2EA : 3130284702 Blind rivet nut, flat headed 2EA : 51718065070 Thanks in advance for help! |

I'm attempting to raise the nose-end of the CF brace to clear the dinan intake. Thought to ditch the Dinan intake but installed it yesterday along with Dinan Stage 2 tuner and it's not bad. It can stay for a bit.
The attachment point of the CF brace to the hood cross link doesn't take any of the force but should be secured somehow. I have an idea that I can shave down and shape a frame slider from a racing motorcycle application to act as a pillar. Longer bolts are no issue. If I can raise the attachment point to the cross link at the nose end, it means the angle needs to be changed where the CF brace attaches to the allow cross brace near the firewall. Thoughts? Also, I didn't order the guide support bearings. They are $176 each. Pricey in my mind. What did you pay for them? I am going to grind off the tabs on the stock guide support bearing where that flimsy stock cross brace attaches to allow the support ring to attach to it. Let's move some of this to the main forum. How's your install going? Done? I pick up all the misc. parts other than allow and CF brace, which I already have, on Wednesday. I ordered all the parts for stage 4. |

I don't know what the clearance is between the carbon brace and the hood, you might want to try spacers but i'm not sure how flexible the brace is, probably not much.
Install scheduled on monday with my shop, they've rehearsed install with one of their cars so should be good! |

Installation is almost complete, i just need to fit the carbon part now.
Thanks to my shop the job was well done, they had rehearsed on their M2 before so it was a breeze. I wouldn't want to drill into the existing support bearings though, youre going to weaken them, abd it won't fit properly. Don't try to save doing that, you might regret it. |

I used big size of rubber buffer which used for intake ( part no : 13717625238). This way seems incomplete for tightening both strut to body, but I am afraid to drill it.
When you find any good extra idea, please let me know ^^ Thanks ~ |
