Went with ESR wheels because VMR was sold out

So VMR was sold out of pretty much every wheel I liked. A dealer suggested ESR RF2's since I like the rotary forged process over the completely cast process and they had the style I wanted. So I gave them a try and I'm happy I did. First of all, I saved about $250 over VMR, the finish is gorgeous and they're rotary forged for strength and weight saving. The only issue is very minor, my previous bmw center caps don't fit so now I've got to find some random size caps or just put stickers on the ESR caps.
Anyone else have these wheels, or the RF1's? Any experience with them, good or bad? Any luck finding bmw caps that fit well?

i have the esr rf2 on my car. i love my setup and it is the perfect fitment in my opinion.

19x8.5, 245/35/19 and 19x9.5, 265/35/19

each wheel is around 24.0 lbs

the images attached are for the fronts, both oem and then the esr.

I lost about 8 lbs per front and 9 lbs per rear. total loss of about 44 lbs unsprung mass, while going 20 mm wider tire in the front, and 10mm wider tire in the rear.

That weight savings is incredible. It's hard to find real world weight numbers on the RF series. But it sounds like they're a solid build.

Love me some 2" deep dish. I get more complements in these than my more expensive Concept One.

Probably saved more weight just the tires itself? Since run flats usually weigh more

the oem 403m wheels are around 29-30 lbs each.

modern runflats arent too much heavier than non run flats

I got the 18 inch ESR RF2's a few months ago. I lost a few tires last winter due to potholes with the stock 19's and runflat Pirellis so I switched to 18's and Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+.

Ditto

I’m literally in the same boat because the VMR’s I wanted (19” 810s FF) are gone till mid June. Are you guys running the fronts with et30? Or something else I missed in my research? Ideally I want the 19x8.5 squared with 255/35, but I’m worried about the et30 in the front being too much poke for the fenders and beefy tires. The pics look great but you can only tell so much...

19x8.5 et 30 front
19x9.5 et 35 rear.
I could have gone with the et 45 in rear for a more square look but et 35 gives it just a slight staggered look. Et 30 in front looks perfect.

What tires specs you running. Hoping a 40 would fit fine without stretch

ET 35.. does the rear poke out.... can you post a photo and what tire size you running?

I'm contemplating getting this setup for my GC.

lug holes are bigger than the lugs

hello everyone,

i have a dilemma. i bought esr RF2 5x120 size 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 online. they called me back saying that they ran out of stock of the 8.5(even though it did not specify online) and gave me another option of redrilling the 5x114.3. when i got it, i thought everything was fine cuz i gave specific specs of what i need. so i went to a tire shop to mount it cuz i thought everything was fine. when they put the tire on and mounting it to the car, they notice that the lug holes is bigger than the original from the oem rims. they told me that it is dangerous because the lugs can loosen while driving. is there a solution for this??

Janky award of the year goes to wherever you bought them from.

What profile tire are you running on the ET30 upfront ? I have similar setup and wonder if I can squeeze in a 40sidewall without rub on stock m susp, instead of the 35 currently
