Wheel and Tire Upgrade:
This is a change I've been waiting to do for a long time. Never been a fan of run flat tires, given their harsh ride over bumpy roads, and poor handling. A few months ago I decided on sticking with 18" wheels as I really got used to the ride comfort with my 400m wheels. My favorite 18s have always been the M3 513m wheels. After doing some research, I concluded that for the perfect xdrive setup, I needed to get a square front rim only package of 513m. Coupled with a square tire setup, I was able to both maintain perfect OD compared to stock and not have to mess with my speedometer/odometer. The tire upgrade has been amazing. Unfortunately the Michelin AS4 tires have been on backorder but I have zero regrets about going with the DWS06+ tires. Would recommend these to anyone, great every day use tires. Full specs are: Wheels: BMW 513m 18x9 +29 (all 4 corners) Tires: Continental DWS06 Plus - 255/40/18 Suspension: OEM xdrive Msport suspension

M Performance Big Brake Kit Upgrade:
Was able to get an amazing deal due to BMW's sell-off of a discontinued product number, for the first run of orange m performance brakes. After another member of bimmerpost, posted about it, I was able to contact my BMW parts guy who told me there were only 5 left in the country, and I was able to purchase one of them for a great discount. After the installation, my impressions are these: The car is significantly more balanced under heavy braking, before it used to nose dive quite a lot. Brake dust is multiplied by at least 2-3 times now (OEM BMW pads). There is a "cricket" like noise when driving next to a wall or median, or in a garage. This is normal and due to the air that gets trapped between the slots/dimples of the rotors and the pad. Doesnt bother me, but has bothered others. Performance increase of these brakes isn't very significant over the OEM brake set-up. Look upgrade is very significant and makes a huge difference. Especially with rotors, the way my 513m wheels look now, due to lack of rotor hat rust (thanks to aluminum hats on these rotors), and the increased size of rotors to fill the empty space just looks sporty and premium. Was able to save some money with OE rear rotors from Brembo (same as BMW M Perf rotors just without the BMW stamp). There are also even cheaper options from Zimmerman, but those are 1 piece steel rotors, that can rust, versus the OEM/OE 2 piece rotor that has an aluminum rotor hat. Parts Installed: Calipers: Front 4 Piston Brembo Calipers, Rear 2 Piston Calipers Pads: OEM BMW Brake Pads Rotors: Front OEM BMW Rotors Drilled Slotted / Rear Brembo OE Rotors Drilled Slotted (Product #: 09.C395.13) Brake Lines: Bimmerworld F3X V3 SS Brake Lines |

It was product # 34-11-2-221-447, this was back in like October of 2021 though, there was a discussion about it in another thread. Not sure if it's still a deal you can take advantage of, I just sat on these brakes for a while. I paid around $1100 for the kit.

they pop up on the f80 classifieds quite often, a lot of people replace their leather pulls with the M-Performance fully CF ones. Just a quick note, the Front and Back pulls are both the same, so you can buy them in pairs. A lot of the classifieds are in pairs since M4's only have 2 doors.

i really like the oem black wood texture the car came with, but the mix of that plus carbon fiber bits started to bother my OCD, so i wanted to have all matching interior haha. would I recommend it to others? honestly… eh, not sure if it's worth the price but yeah it looks good at the end of the day.

Added the M performance side skirt decals, side skirt extensions, and front lip to complete the look. Cleaned up the car today and applied ultimate black plastic restorer to all the body kit bits for a deep matte black look.
Really happy with the aggressive look the car has now

haha lowering is still in the plans, i just can't figure out the route i want to go. i want to retain EDC, which only leaves with a few choices of coils and struts (with separate springs) that i can do. and all of them are on backorder right now. just doing springs and using my OEM struts with 50k miles doesn't seem wise. but yeah NY roads too lol, or more so, NY driveways, im already scraping in places with the lip, if i don't do a sharp angle entry/exit.
