Is my f30 totaled?
Was driving down the main road, and some random lady pulled out without looking both ways🤦‍♂️
-Chassis stabilization malfunction popped up -It pulls all the way to the right and makes a high pitched squeaky noise when trying to drive Do you guys think it’s going to be considered a total loss?? |

We have no idea based on superficial photos. Besides, it doesn't matter what we think, it's up to your insurance adjuster to make that determination.

135,000 is going to work against you. What year model? How well is it equipped? I’m guessing no airbags deployed? It’s hard to tell from the photos, but if the steering issues are because of suspension damage, pretty likely, that can drive up repair costs pretty significantly. Use this to calculate the retail value of your car. If it’s pretty low the odds are against you. https://www.edmunds.com/appraisal/
Not necessarily. If an owner can make a good case for the value of the car and wants it repaired they have a chance to convince the insurance company.

I just did the value. I’ll be shocked if it’s not totaled.

From the pictures, this is minor damage. Headlight, fender, hood, bumper can be replaced, but the frame etc needs to be seen once it is open up.
It will probably get totaled since those 4 parts alone aren’t cheap for a brand new parts. Also an excuse to upgrade from halogen to xenon or led headlight with money from insurance payout. Lol My take is if you are a decent mechanic, you can buy back from insurance and fix it yourself as most are probably just a replacement parts to make it new again. You can buy those parts used from junk yard or eBay to save money. |

By the way, to the OP, if the car is totaled the insurance company owes you the full RETAIL value of the car that it would take to buy an exact replacement from a dealership if one was available. They also owe you the cost of tax, title, and license fees that would be required based on the final valuation of your car that they pay.

Just in the major parts I can see in the pictures (hood, bumper cover, fender, door shell, headlight) you are already close to $4000 new. This doesn’t include suspension parts or all the random parts required for a proper fix (think bumper and headlight brackets/supports, radiator brackets etc) Buying the parts used will cut that cost by 1500-2000.
Refinishing will be quite expensive. Doing this proper requires a blend into the right fender, rear left door and the a pillar. Probably 4000-5000 depending on the shop. Pauloxxi wasn’t far off with his cost. The big unknown are the suspension and steering components and their associated labor. |

Based on my recollection of the value I ran it sounds like they gave you an appropriate amount.
Good luck with your search! I would say if you can bump your budget a little bit moving to a 440 or 340 would be totally worth it and worth doing while you have the opportunity. Personally, I would go for a 340 over a 440 if the lower price of a 3er would make it an easier option.

Sorry man. It sucks to lose a car like that.
I would use that money as a down payment on a 2016-2018 340xi instead of a 435xi. 340/440 is just better in every way over the N55 model. Thanks for updating us back.

I second that you should try and get a 440i if you can swing the price. The B58 is wonderful.
A 435i will still be a good choice though. |
