I would just like some clarification on how the exhaust valves work. Today I heard mine opening/closing in an underground car park. When I came to a stop, it opens and when I drove off it closes. Is this normal? 2012 328i

Which drive mode? Comfort should only happen at higher RPM's, sport I believe opens when you are a little off throttle and stays open (cannot 100% be certain since that's how it works with my BM3 tune, and I don't know if they touched that).

This was in comfort mode, Can you adjust how the valves open with bootmod?

Not sure on the 328. On the 340 there was a selector to change if the exhaust flap is open all the time.

In an underground car park (walls reverb) at low speed it should be audible if you know what to listen for. Try opening and closing your valve while stationary with Bimmerlink. You will hear it, even outside.

I have been told that by several people lol, although this was at around 5mph in a car park with windows down

You could hear it in a car park for sure. With mine (aftermarket exhaust IMO), I can hear the difference when toggle between comfort and sport with the windows down in a drive through.
