The render needs to have the hideous "bimmerang" vent from Pep Boys instead of the one from the concept to be more realistic.

People on the forums say that the features in a concept never fully make it into production, which I initially agreed with, but didn't most of the features in the M3 concept make it into production?

+1

The car will look nothing like the render.

Headlights and bumper are exactly the same as the 3 msport.

THIS!! I don't understand BMW anymore... We all know the front bumper won't make it to production.. apart from that it looks 99% like the 3er front WTF!! Msport will be the same as well! BMW clean this mess quickly and change the fuckin front/headlights of the 4

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

I love it! Not much change from the 3 series, but this is what I'm hoping to get next year in July!

The M concepts generally come out after we've already seen the production version of the car on which they are based. The E92 M3 concept was shown after we had already seen the regular 3 series, so of course they wouldn't add any crazy styling elements that won't make it into production.

The 4 series concept, on the other hand, came out before any official images of the production 4 series, so it has crazy bumpers, mirrors, door handles and wheels. Remove those things, keep everything else the same, and you'll have your production 4 series. I would guess that these renders will prove to be extremely accurate and that, in another year or so, we'll see an M4 concept that will look almost exactly like its production counterpart.

Exactly !
The Concepts of M3, M5, 6 series, 6 gran coupe, 5 GT, E60 M5, X6 all look exactly like their production models.
What makes you guys think this is going to be any different?

Why don't we all wait for the real "McCoy" to show up instead of making affirmative or negative responses to someone's renders as to what he/she thinks it may or may-not look like.

Meanwhile I know one thing for sure ... I shall enjoy my ///M3 as long as possible

BMW X1, 5 Series GT, 6 Series GC, 6 Series Coupé, 1 Series GT Concepts are all close to production. Only things that change are bumpers in some cases, interoir materials in most cases, and side mirrors, for the 4 Series Coupé, the door handles also. LED headlights exactly like the concept are for production, but optional.

The car debuting at Detroit will be the 4 concept, not production version. We will still have to wait a few months for the production version to be revealed.
