Looks like that would be alcantara from other pics.

That is the ///M Performance CF trim for the F10(5er). The F3x trim is the half CF and Alcantara trim, seen bellow that trim.

I would definitely get the Alpina if we had them in the US. Sadly we don't get that option and I don't want to wait another year for the M4.

I don't know why Alpina don't sell in the US, seems daft, the states seem to spend more per car than us Brits so Alpina could really be at home there

I would assume someone buying a base 428i non sport is more price sensitive so they wouldn't be the target buyer. The target buyer should be someone buying a 435i probably MSport who is an enthusiast. Wouldn't that buyer just get an M4 since a well equipped 435i MSport with M Performance parts will easily be above the base of an M4?

Not unless they want a DD with descent mileage.

He did say that in February, 2014 that the LSD will start to be offered for sale thru the dealer network parts departments. No word on whether the LSD could be port installed after say an ED.

Yes, so I am told by both M performance reps. (IAA and Lisbon)

I also asked about the F20 as well, guy in Lisbon said yes, guy in Frankfurt said no, only for F3x car not including the new F80 M3/M4. So once again - its not so clear.

Thanks Dackel, great insight and help like always! I was hoping the upcoming 2er would have some sort of sportier seat option. I love the seats on the CLA 45 AMG. I would gladly pay the $2,300 option they charge. However, the $4,000 bmw wanted for their last performance seats was wayy too much and did not even come to the USA : (

How does one order their new BMW with a combination of M performance parts? The 4 series configurator doesn't have options to add these parts. If I wanted the tips and the front diffuser for example

Starting in February, 2014 everything will be available, including the LSD. You should be able to order any Performance part when placing your car order or later thru a BMW dealer parts dept.
