I thought the specs said that the roof could be opened at speeds up to 11mph....the way they've edited this shot it looks like it's doing at least 60mph! Haha.

Nice car, i like it better than the E93 since the roof flows better. Still i prefer a lot more the coupe over this one.

I actually like it a lot but its pretty pointless here in Belgium

the baseline front is ridiculous. It pops out even more in the vert.

Pedestrian safety are important thing, but it isn´t good for cars desing. 4-series front looks heavy in pictures. I prefer old 3er Coupe/cabriolet.

I guess that settles it. No optional 6MT in the US!

I wish these seats with integrated seat belts were also offered in 4 Series Coupe. I see no reason developing both type of seats for coupe and vert.

Hey Jason,
Is the listed weight in the technical specs. accurate?

They list the 428 at 1680kg and the 435 at 1740kg.
The 428 coupe is at 1575kg and 435 coupe at 1640kg.

This puts the difference in weight between the coupe and vert at 100kg. Down from 200kg. between the e92 and e93.

Did they shave 100kg off the weight of the convertible top and mechanisms?

Did anyone notice the picture of the side air breathers in EBII? So I'm guessing there is now the option of having them painted body color instead of black. It should he'll make it look more subtle I think.
The body colored air breathers are what I'm hooked on. I need to know if that's an option and when it will be available for the coupe.

Car looks great, definitely a nice upgrade from E93. The mineral gray moving shot with the red interior says it all.

Not necessarily, DCT is standard on the M5/M6 but 6MT is a $0 option. I think it will be the same here.
The CA I used told my friend who is looking at a 435i vert that the manual may not be offered for the US market due to the low take rate on the 3 Series convertibles with manual transmissions. Too bad, as I'm not sure he'll wait for the M4.

One of the reasons I bought my 335i E90 was the fact that it was available with a manual transmission, even though more than 90% of them are sold with automatics. I guess that the day is coming when manual transmissions will go away altogether.

I'm a sucker for details so when I saw this, was pretty pleased. I'm sure if the vert has it, you should be able to at least order it and swap it.

The vents in body color have always been available for the coupe (at least in the UK configurator). Exact option is:

Air breathers in body color (S0321)

I love it...for some odd reason I feel in love immediately unlike the coupe where it had to grow on me. I think it's the angle of the shots taken

I like it, but the weight penalty is like carrying washing machines in your boot, how does a motor and folding roof weight that much?!

I think it looks absolutely amazing! I like the look of it w/ the top down better than the coupe, actually. The real world press pics are excellent this time around.

I vote with the coupe crowd for looks comparing the two (top up on the convert).

The transition on the roofline is not smooth, the rear window is too vertical, making the rear side view discontinuous and "stubby", plus you have to live with the trunk seam along the side of the rear fender ....

But, as convertibles go, it looks good.
