Do you envisage it being up and running in the near future for before and after runs for customers? I am no rush, as warranty runs out in June, so looking at May time. Thanks 🙏 |

£449 inc VAT. You will need a ENET cable. Amazon are not shipping them at the moment but plenty available on Ebay.
Add £200 if you would like to add the gearbox tune. Please email sales@evolveautomotive.com to take advantage of the offer. |

Are your remote gearbox maps specific to your ecu remaps? My cars had mapping done at Ecotune and at the time my intention was to get the Alpina flash because it has the gear indication on dash whilst in drive so opted to leave the gearbox tune at the time. With work and life getting in the way it's something I've e still to get round to doing. I hadn't been on here for a while but logged in today and came across this and it's reminded me it's something I still need to tick off of the 'to do' list, so since it's something that could be done remotely then I could hopefully do it myself whilst being stuck at home during these difficult times. |

Hi all,
This may well be the wrong area to post in, so I apologise in advance! I’m a new member - having just bought a 435d, I’m in need of some guidance. I’ve been a reader of the forum for many years. The past 4 company cars that I’ve had have all been BMWs but I’ve had enough of the tax and so bought my own. A few cars back I had a 420d coupe, and I loved it. So I decided that my first privately owned car should be the same. Took me more than 6 months to find a car with the spec that I wanted (and within the budget!) but got there in the end. So, I have some questions and am hoping that you can point me to the correct areas of the forum please. Firstly, my last car was an M340i G20. While I loved the engine, it never gave me the same feeling as sitting in my F32 420d. The way the petrol revd was unbelievable - but when I’m paying for my own fuel, the diesel still suits (even in these strange times!). I prefer the style of the 435d and it definitely reminds me of my old F32. But the engine doesn’t quite cut it after being in the M340. So my first port of call is a remap. I’ve searched the forums but after many hours scrolling through I’ve not been able to find out what people think to the stage 1. Will it compare at all to the M340i? I also loved the sound of the M340i, so after the remap I’m thinking of getting a new exhaust kit. At that point I’m sure that I’ll actually have my ultimate driving machine! Would really appreciate being pointed in the right direction. Thanks in advance! |

The 30d and 35d units respond well to tuning, typically njoying 70-100bhp increases which are, of course, driven by the torque gains. These engines are all about the shove in the 2-4K rpm range, not top end.
There have been a lot of recommendations over the years in terms of tuning and these include Avon Tuning, Evolve, DMS, Celtic Tuning, and eMaps. My strong recommendation is that the tune is done on a rolling road so it can be optimised and also so you have a before/after dyno graph to show the results achieved. An aftermarket is largely a waste of money on a diesel. Diesels don’t sound the same as Petrol units (and don’t rev as high) and the DPF robs the system of any additional character. Hope that helps.

Hi Watsey,
Thanks for the reply. Avon tuning have a local agent near to me but I’m not sure whether they’ll hVe the rolling road or not… will find out and will certainly ask for the dyno graphs! Useful feedback on the aftermarket too. I know a lot people get the dpf removed but that’s not for me. I’ve gone for an oil burner because of the pocket gains based on the mileage that I do… while many are against the diesel these days, for distance driving it’s still the best for the environment too when the full embodied energy of the process is considered! Will delve deeper into the forum on this one…! |

A back box delete will give you a slightly 'throatier' sound and you can hear it's a six, but don't expect days of thunder. The only way to go really loud is DPF delete, but it's just a loud diesel then. You're never getting real soul.

Big thumbs up for the remote remap from Evolve. It's easy to apply, equally easy to remove again whenever required. You don't get the rolling road (if that's something you feel you need, it's a personal thing) but the torque and power gauges are updated to raise the limits. And best of all not a hint of carbon build up on the exhaust. Flew through the MOT with the remap applied too. Not noticed any mpg difference, the long term average hasn't really changed.
Needless to say the car is very quick with the map applied. Expensive outside of deal times so keep a look out for discounts. |
