Looks like i'm the opposite of most drivers here, I think teh LED's are very poor compared to the previous xenon's
My car came with Adaptive LED's (inc HBA) from the factory, (aka Iconic LED's) and i'm seriously considering changing them out for the Adaptive Xenon clusters. The adaptive LED's on my 2016 LCI are not a patch on the adaptive xenon's that I had on my pre-LCI 2013. It would be great if they were plug 'n' play plus coding as I would swap them back over when it comes to sell, unfortunately I didn't spec headlight washers on this car (they are a legal requirement for HID' in ECE and come standard with Xenon headlight on all ECE cars.) Has anyone checked how easy it is to intercahne LED's with xenon's (and in my case, vice versa)? |

For fellow coders reading this in the future, I had the "Vertical aim control failure" for a while. You can usually fix the issue by either enabling or disabling LWR_ENABLE in FEM_BODY.

Hi guys good news. I just ordered a official bmw F30 led retrofit harness at my local bmw dealer. To code the car you can also go to the bmw dealer at most imported thing it cost only 58 euro with the introduction manual. The coding would be around the 200 euro. So much cheaper than everybody. I let you now next week when i get it of it works.

What is lowest price (and where) that anyone has found a matched set of BMW EU Left Hand Drive F30 ADAPTIVE LED Headlights for?
Can anyone determine which Company BMW uses to make these OEM assemblies (i.e., probably Hella, but just a guess). Thanks. |

2014 BMW 335i Black head lights with adaptive Xenon
I'm struggling with finding all black background plug and plays. I tried some crap from CARID and it threw out errors stating adaptive headlight malfunction.
I had a sit down with a police friend and he explained why getting rid of shiny stuff helps cut down tickets along with laser protection. It looks weird for the all blackout front end but I don't care. I'm just about performance and no tickets. Does anyone know where I can get some Xenon adaptive projectors without reinventing the wheel for black insides? I talked to the dealer I bought the car from and they don't have anything OEM from bmw. Oh and for those who like to lecture me on speeding need to buy a prius. Thanks |

Need some help for Adaptive LED retrofit, F30 Pre-LCI
So, yesterday afternoon I found a pair of Adaptive Led headlights, I took them and installed. It took almost one hour , to uninstall bumper, old broken headlights and install new ones, as wiring was already done. They got coded for the first try and they are lighting up as they should. Everything works , except I have an error with vertical aim, but strange it goes off after driving away. I don't understand why. Tried to initialize level sensors with ISTA +, ICM said that sensors were correctly and successfully initialized, but at next scanning there is again error. I did some coding in FEM_BODY, LWR_ENABLE - aktiv, and now error goes away after a few seconds after starting the car. I tried to test light distribution but they are not aligned as they should and I couldn't be sure if they are working or not, but HBA stays ON on high speeds even behind another car, and the driver said that my lights were not disturbing him (it was a friend of mine ). So I think light distribution is working too. The only thing that is not working is auto leveling, cornering is working. Maybe a little more coding needed. I will ask some friends.
Thank you Marius for trying to help me, maybe we can make them work 100%. Any idea from someone who done this before? Last edited by larry_bml; 04-04-2017 at 12:57 AM.. |

Hello, I just installed my Adaptive Led on my F30 2012. Everything is working as it should , only one minor problem. From time to time I have error for vertical AIM control, if I start Rheingold and do an initialization of TMS sensors, error disappears for 1-2 days, and after that it came back. For the firs 1-2 days it is shown when I start engine, but after driving a little it disappears by itself, but after 1-2 days it no longer disappear anymore until I don't do TMS initialization again. Can anyone give me an idea on how to fix this, please?

F30 2015 LED Light Conversion
Can anyone recommend a midlands garage which will carry out the halogen/LED light conversion.....rather than removing/posting lights off & waiting a week! Cheers.

Hey guys, I'm new here... been reading about this conversion and I went out to get hold of a set of LCI LED headlights (Non AHL) and the OEM wiring harness and I dunno what to do with it there are actually lesser connectors on the LCI headlamps as opposed to the factory xenon. I've attached the photos if you are interested to take a look.
Anyone has any lead as to what the pinouts are for? The conversion harness also looks pretty complex. (The one with the green marking is the LCI LED Non Adaptive) Cheers. |

1 ground, 2,3 are power, one permanent and the other from FEM, 8 is LIN, 9 and 10 are CAN2 wires.
With original retrofit harness is very easy to be done . |
