2018 340i xDrive 30k Mile Service

My 2018 340i xDrive is approaching 30k miles and I will be bringing it in for an oil change. I did my first two oil changes at 10k and 20k per BMW’s recommendations. Are there any negative effects having the first two done in 10k intervals? The third was done at 25k and they will be done every 5k going forward. I am also replacing the engine air filter. Are there any other maintenance/prevenantive maintenance items I should be looking into at 30k?

Oil changes are fine at 10,000mi, ultra low sulphur gasoline means the oil doesn't go sour as quickly in the past.

Central Euro cars run 2yr/18,500mi intervals.

If you haven't, may as well rotate your tires, check your brake fluid for moisture content, get a new cabin charcoal filter, and wipers.

Sounds like a good plan. Most of your substantial preventative maintenance will happen at 60k miles like replacing all fluids, spark plugs and coils, etc. If you install an aftermarket engine tune then plugs every 30k miles. You could do oil changes every 3k-5k miles with a tune too.

At 30k miles (and already 3-4 years) definitely drain & replace your brake fluid for safety. Check your brake pads or wait until sensor(s) trigger and install Hawk 5.0 pads which are much better street pads than stock. Part numbers in photo. Blue calipers are Front 370mm/Rear 345. Grey calipers are F340/R330.

Brake rotors typically last twice as long as pads, so 60k+ miles. Anyone who tells you rotors need replacement is a con artist.

Upgrade air filter to aFe Pro Dry which is washable & reusable. See photo for part number. Probably need new cabin air filter and wiper blades.

Keep vigilant for any oil leaks. Use a flashlight to inspect under hood.

Hope this helps.

I actually just ordered the AFE drop in filter. Curious to hear feedback on it. Also replacing cabin filter and wiper blades are changed once before the winter and once before the summer. Thank you for the feedback!
