how to tell a sport line from a no bage
Hi guys,
seeking some advice here as I'm in the market for a used F30. I'm specifically looking at 328i's and I've found one that I like as advertised it says it's a sport line but I noticed when inspecting that it does not have the red stitching on seats nor red along the dash, what I'm asking specifically is how do I know it's a sport line and not a no badge? The used dealer has it also advertiser as a sport line and a 2013 my14 even though the compliance date is 2012? also is there a "sport" badge on the side of vehicle? is this the only real way to know? if so what does it mean if it is but doesn't not have the red detailing? Any help in this would be appreciated ? |

Sports Steering wheel Sports Seats with bolster and thigh support Red Stitching on seats & handbrake Sports body kit Side sills with 'Sport' Sports badging on the sides of the car fender Check the VIN number to determine build. Finally, if you have access to E-Sys, you could plug into the vehicle & check it's build.

The other thing you can do which is what i did, is try to download a brochure for that model year. Along with providing the differences between the badges, it also provides the options that were available for each badge.

I also don't think the sport line had any different suspension to the other lines. I know this because it was the primary reason I went to m-sport (other than the front bumper).
The standard suspension is very different to sport. |

Just had a look at the car you linked. Just a base sport line with no options...
If youre okay spending a little bit extra, id suggest the following. Listed from pics what I can see that these cars have over the one youve linked for a few grand extra (you can always offer then 33k) which youll probably partially get back when you got to resell.. Xenons Msport Pack https://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/d...4630273/?Cr=45 Xenons Msport Pack Widescreen Nav https://www.carsales.com.au/private/...4824547/?Cr=54 |

as far as im aware (which is what the case is in NSW) you do the transaction, fill in the back of the rego papers with the sale details, then jump online and conduct a notice of disposal and then you have a couple weeks to go into the RMS/RTA to transfer it officially and thus pay the stamp duty (approx 3% of purchase value)
If you are buying from interstate, there will be a period of say 3 months as an example that you have until you have to register the car in your state, so you can drive around on the interstate plates during that time, then get a check and get the car registered in VIC. Im sure others will be able to chime in here to help you out a bit more, but I wouldnt solely leave your purchase to dealers as there are loads of good cars sold privately and plus it wouldnt be a bad thing to learn about. Im sure calling your local registry and asking the question would give you the steps too. good luck mate! |
