New owner 328i F30 MSport Sapphire Black
Hi guys just picked up my new (ex demo) 2013 msport Saphirre black. Options xenons
Sunroof DAB Radio Just want to say hi to everyone and give my opinion on my new car. My former car which I still have is an E90 330i Monaco blue fully loaded. After looking at many different cars including F10 (felt they were to big not sporty even with m sport) and Mercedes C and E class ( felt they were all too soft and added ten years to my age instantly) I decided On the 328 F30 MSport. I had reservations about the F30 as all the reviewers were going on about the lack of steering feel and size of the car. And after picking it up, initially I felt my E90 was the better car. That only lasted a few days, I now realise that in every way possible this car is an improvement over and already great car. Initially I felt the comfort/sport mode etc was gimmicky, now I love it and choose comfort for highway and sport most everywhere else. My E90 was just hard! And I wish it had that option. Then the steering, I jumped back in the E90 today to keep it running well and thought the power steering had broken. While the steering feel in the F30 is soft in comfort mode it tightens up beautifully in sport, I love it! And the car is communicative and has fantastic steering feel at all times. I am annoyed by the many reviews that complained about this as I almost never even considered the F30 due to their comments. Perhaps the MSport is the only way to go especially for those coming from an E90. I love this car, and the front end which initially I didn't like I now find very aggressive, it's a great look that grows on you with time. Oh and the power love it. My only gripe is the auto on/off. As for the size, I wanted something slightly bigger than the E90 and felt the 5er was too bulky, thanks BMW for making what I think is the perfect car! hope that wasn't too much of a rant. Just wanted to give my perspective on the F30 328 coming from an E90 330 after 4 weeks of ownership, |

Hi, yes, comparing the 330i to the 328i, I like the sound hum if the older car, silky smooth, the only thing I don't like is starting the newer car, sounds a bit rough, but once you get into high revs the new car sounds great. I'm convinced the F30 is faster, it is definitely punchier and seems to have available power at any speed, feels more nimble too, I used to feel the 330i was really quick but today It didn't feel quick. and my Toyota Aurion (girlfriends car) feels lackluster and slow. To be fair I guess the E90 hasn't got 190 kW available anymore with 140k on the clock. I checked the 0-100 times on carsales and they list the F30 328 as being faster than an E90 330i, and That's definitely what I feel.

Congrats & enjoy.

One really needs to test these things for themselves and decide if it suits them. Some people hate change and will knee jerk complain about anything, including the F30's wonderful electrically controlled steering. I find it just right. Not so many complaints about its feel now.

Congrats on the new car and thanks for the review.
It was quite an interesting read and I agree with you on the steering feel. Love the balance of the F30 and it does take a while to get used to this when coming from an E90. |

Congrats on your new purchase and great review of old versus new. Looks like we are like minded as we live in same area of BrisVegas and I too just picked up my ex demo 328i M Sport in Sapphire Black.

Hi, that is a co-incidence, how's your car going? I've spotted a few 328 m sport on the south side in White but no black ones yet. In all honesty I wanted the estorel blue or white, but this black car had the two things I had to have, sunroof and xenons, and a 10k discount over going into showroom and ordering the same car in my colour choice, colour has grown on me though..,

Nice, love the Sapphire Black M Sport. The more I look at it the more I want one. :P
I would recommend getting the M Performance Grill & Rear Diffuser. |

We are very similar in taste because I was also wanting Estoril Blue. Wasn't too perturbed by sunroof but had to have xenons and extended Bluetooth. The deal for the demo in sapphire black was just too good to pass up. The full list price for mine was $82k and I drove it away for $65k with a window tint thrown in. It's going to Kim at Detail Evolution in January for Opti Coat treatment. Can't wait for that. I'll keep my eyes peeled for yours. I just posted a thread for mine with some dodgy iGadget photos.
