None of us do, you can send the file to any location and they will make it for you.
Please forgive my ignorance as I'm not well versed with 3d printing companies, are you guys just using local printing companies? I've never heard of print shops that do 3d printing. I guess I'm behind lol
It's ok i didn't know much before this, I just googled 3D printing and my city and found a couple of places, I was able to upload the file and get an instant quote.

Since it was local I was able to pick it up.

Try searching I'm sure you'll find something in your area.

Yes the one piece is the ideal look, but it seems harder to get them done in that size.
It's cool at night, nice and even light distribution!

For those of us who have black interior, the LED light gets absorbed by the black so you can barely see it. Like others, I didn't even notice the lights at night until I looked up and under the trim molding.

Great idea! Has anyone got the measurement file for F32 coupe? Specifically 1 continuous piece per panel.

As for the bmw ambient light.stl file that was posted on youtube, if I was to use this to order, how many quantity is require? It seems like the file is setup for a quantity of 1.

The f32 is being worked on by someone on here.

The file for the f30 is setup per door, it comes in 3 pieces.

I did see someone selling that kit in the Classifieds section.

I could be wrong but I believe the option is $350.00

It's not a bad look but I find it too bright. I like the slick and not too much attention of these strips.

What materials are you guys using to print this, I'm having trouble finding a place that could do flexible transparent plastic.

The front door lighting on the f32 was approximately 24 inches where the back seat was about 16".

The guy I have making my set, could only do strips of just over 15 inches. So it looks like I'll have one piece for each of the backseats, but will have to do two pieces for the front seats. They're going to be made out of TPU, which is flexible so it can accommodate the curved trim on the front doors.

I should have them next week.

Thank you! Let us know how it goes and feel free to share the .stl file for easy ordering.

Why can't you find a 3D printing service in your area and get it done yourself?

Sent you a PM.. thanks

This got me thinking, I’m going to stop by my local hardware store tomorrow and buy some clear vinyl tubing.... like clear small vaccume hoses to see if that would be an alternative to disperse and amplify the lights.

That could be no idea but it might be hard to position it and keep it in place.

But nothing like a DIY.

So a friend brought me 6 pieces (3 for each front doors). As it turn out the problem with his printer was "curving" and could not do larger or just in one piece.

The problem I see at the moment are gaps between each piece which can be trimmer with knife to look better.

Other thing is color. Mine are white. It looks great in dark but during day.... lets say it "sticks out" maybe a bit too much.

Maybe transparent with grooves in it to distribute light better would be better option. Or just transparet mate finish.

Silver could look nice too, it all depends of the look you are going for.
