Hey guys, I’m kinda new to the forum, but not new to the bmw’s. This is my 6th one I think, but never had a similar problem. I read the forum all the time and usually find the answers i need without making a specific post about it... Well, things change

So, long story short...since few months I’ve swapped my trustworthy e90 with a f30 2013 328xi Sport Edition. To be honest...awesome car. Now about the issues...One is not new, comes and goes.
- Sometimes when i drive for a while and stop /at the gas station i.e/ adterwards the car goes into limp mode. No messagea, no nothing. Just starts but wont drive. After restarting a few times it goes again. Dont know when it’s gonna happen again. Fout on the OBD - U1164. Trough inpa - “Valvetronic actuator position sensor short circuit or line interruption” I would like to have an idea about this if anyone has of course

Second problem..big one...
- few days ago while driving i’ve got the “Passenger restraint system” fout. Havent been gone since. No errors on the OBD reader..bit it’s still on. After a few days I get into the car, push the button and it went insane. Multiple system faults - abs, drivetrain malfunction, brakes etc. After restarting a few times car atarted, but the “check engine” light was on. It was on for a few days and it was gone. Few days without a problem, this weekend car was in the garage, today I try to go to work and baaam...christmas tree again. It cranked once, didnt start and...that was it. Wont start since

Soo...i have the idea that maybe the battery is dead, will try to charge it tonight and see, but yeah...I’m open to ideas Has anyone had a similar or the same problem?

I had a "christmas tree" issue on my E92. Turned out to be a defective instrument panel, and it was replaced under CPO warranty.

Is your battery the original? And have you had it load tested? Any auto parts store will do it for free.

May not be the battery, but I seen some pretty weird faults, Alerts, etc. when a battery is failing. The electronic systems and the power management/monitoring system is pretty involved.

Ok, so I’ve recharged the battery...Seems not to be the problem. Still getting the same mistakes. It cranks once, doesnt start and then nothing. What I’ve noticed is that the break pedal seems a bit hard...Also i cannot change gears, even to neutral. Car is stuck in the parking spot under the building... I’m getting these errors: Brake system : drive moderately
Flat tyre monitor inactive
Drivetrain malfunction...

Seriously need help here guys... Nobody has even the slightest clue?

could be a faulty dme or a short circuit from installed mods? Any mods on the car?

Maybe it's the dash unit; maybe it's the ECU; maybe not. Without access to testing equipment, replacing one piece at a time based on clues could turn out to be a real mess. It may be time to get it towed to the dealer.

Even if you knew what the problem is it won't do you much good if you lack the ability to fix it. It's time to enlist a pro.

Sounds like bad battery or its connections. What kind of voltage you get directly from battery and compare it to engine bay terminals. Here is one older post with fault 930994:
