I am confused with our grilles
We had a coding day in SoCal today and found something interesting.
Did stock grille came in two different style? At first, I thought this had something to do with M Performance grille vs. stock grille, but as you can see on the 3rd pic, stock grille had same shape as M performance grille. I find 2nd and 3rd style grille is more appealing than the first pic style. |

If you get the M performance grille (#2), you can make it look like #3 if you like. The grill slats are clipped to the surround. #3 may have been a sport line with new bumper, or maybe he just mixed and matched the grill pieces.

If you play with the configuration tool on BMWusa.com you will see that the M-sport has the narrowly spaced grill slats in black like the no-line model, not the fatter and more widely spaced slats of the Sport Line.

This is still confusing... but at least I know that there is differences between standard grille and sport line grille. Thanks! |

...and I won't even get into the fact that ALL of our cars were equipped with different front/rear brakes. No two cars were alike, and all were M-Sport cars with the exception of Frogman's (..and it was a mixture of 335i and 328i variants). My 2014 came equipped with what looks to be the grey version of the M-Performance brakes up front (..same caliper and BMW logo), and different brakes in the rear with a BMW logo. My brakes were easily the biggest/most robust of all of the F30 3-series cars at the meet.

Yep! It looks to be the same caliper as the M Performance option, except it has a "BMW" logo rather than an "M" logo. The rear brakes are different than what comes with the M Performance option (..which I presume is what the additional $600 amount for the upgrade covers...as well as colored paint and an "M"), BUT they are different than what was equipped on the other M Sport 335i's that were at the meet. It's probably just a 2014 change (..and accompanied by a slight price increase). I'll post a pic. Give me a second. Here are the M Performance brakes: ...and here are what came on my 2014 (..same caliper, painted silver instead of blue/red/yellow colored paint and a "BMW" logo instead of "M"). Sorry for the HUGE photo! Last edited by Sedan_Clan; 09-23-2013 at 03:47 PM.. |
