Question 12v socket not working! [SOLVED]

The 12v socket under my glovebox has stopped working, i've checked all 3 fuses listed in the diagram and even swapped all of them out. The 12v socket in the ashtray part is working.

Anyone got any ideas as to what else could be the problem?

I know this is a silly question, but you have checked that another device doesn't work in it, just in case it's not the socket......?

(I know, of course you've tried that and it's a silly question but had to ask! )

Yes mate, the dash cam cable works in the ashtray socket, and my dual usb doesn't work in the under glovebox socket.

Damn if all the fuses are ok, must be a wiring problem, warranty fix?

My socket in the ash tray has never worked. Checked all the fuses and now got it booked in to Ridgeways tomorrow.
Will let you know what they come up with!

Got Ridgeway to check out my 12V socket yesterday .......

Slightly embarrassing . There is nothing wrong with it!!

For some reason, my Belkin USB adapter works in the socket under the glove box, but not in the socket in the ashtray

I,ve tried another adapter and it works in the ashtray socket!!

So, a wasted hour and a half, but at least I got the car cleaned inside and out

Fixed!

Bloody dealers must have remove the panel under the glovebox for some reason, and disconnected the plug that connects to the back of the socket!!

Why they would have removed that panel for a service is beyond me!

I think but not 100% that the Pollen filter is now under the dash on passenger side. On looking for a rattle i removed said panel and on putting back I noticed I had disconnected the cable from the socket as its a tight fit, was more careful second attempt and all ok but rattle still there !

Is there someone that can point out, picture where this USB port is, I don't see any sign of a USB port on my 335d touring other than the one under the arm rest? There is also of course the 12V socket in the tray behind the cup holders and in the boot.

Found it this morning, for some reason in my head I was looking for a USB socket and not a 12V socket so could not see the wood for the trees so to speak.

Anyway, all good.

Reviving this, wondering if all e9x cars have this connector even if they don't have the 12v plug?

My E91 LCI didn't have one there or come with the wiring for one. I'm sure there's more info & help for this on the E90 platform forums as you have posts in the F30 one.
