I think they are part of Eurocarparts, but online only. Should be alright, never used them though.

I used carparts4less last week, fast delivery with no issues, they use DHL as well, anything is better than Hermes

They are just euro car parts with a different name. Always check between the 2 as one is always cheaper than the other taking discounts into effect

I suspect that Autodoc, along with the other trading names of that company will go through this process it will take some time, although it will probably depend on how much business they actually do in the U.K.

Goods shipping has certainly been affected across the channel, as has been widely reported by both liberal and conservative media outlets. COVID has definitely had an impact here. As a result the availability of goods shipping has somewhat reduced, this will in turn push costs up, at least in the short term. In this case Autodoc may be unwilling to shoulder the additional shipping expenses.

Prior to all this I personally found Autodoc and their other brands (good for getting first time buyer cashback) to be pretty good. Nothing ever arrived quickly, typically a week to 10 days, but I always received exactly what I'd ordered and at an excellent price (especially with cashback factored in). Back in November with the prospect of a no deal Brexit looming and COVID restrictions getting more onerous I made the decision to order all the materials for the next two services on my car. Very glad I did that now.

Hopefully things will return to some form of normality sooner rather than later.
I did exactly the same thing ! There's a nice little stock of oil filters, air filters and cabin filters on thew shelf in the garage. LL04 oil is always available at decent prices from Halfords etc, so that's always a local buy.

Eurocarparts etc. aren't cheap, they just have ridiculous price drops that make them appear cheap. eBay has always beaten ECP for me and usually by a solid margin and often genuine kit.

That said bigger parts like gearbox filters and brake discs I find are cheapest on Autodoc.

Eurocarparts sell through eBay too and the prices are usually less than their website with the discount

Randomly I managed to get ECP to price match a German site for H&R springs last year was nearly £100 off their web price. I had emailed H&R some questions and they cc'd in ECP who's there U.K. distributor. I asked the chap if he could price match because I'd rather buy local and next day they were ready to pick up. Paid £171 at the time, was quite impressed

They simply need to apply for an EORI number, can be done online.

They then take off the local VAT at checkout and you may get charged UK vat on delivery.

Christ, I sell a few bits of clothing to Europe and it took me around an hour to get everything in place.

If they want they can get a UK vat number, again dead easy, and then they can pay UK vat on the customers behalf and pay HMRC every quarter. It will all be logged on what is due through their online stores back end.

I use Shopify and that was all in place by the 3rd January.

The problem is, we gave ourselves a year to transition. This should have been 6 month negotiations and then 6 months to get everything in place.
the reality was we did a deal a couple of days before xmas, no one was working and in the middle of a pandemic with half the globe in lockdown.

We should have done the deal and said "We move to new rules July 2021, that will give us more time to get everything in place and will be in line with the new tax rules and rules of origin that is also happening in the EU from July. It will keep us all inline."

After 40 years, with no transition period after the deal was done, there was going to be teething problems while companies, software etc. was put into place.

Autodoc are crap unless you want to wait, often weeks.
They are never transparent about stock levels.
I have ordered from them before and in stock items have taken 3 or 4 weeks to arrive.
I would rather pay a bit more and have it today/tomorrow.

And you ordered on the 11th Jan? Sounds almost like standard AUTODOC shipping times then 😂
Good to know they haven't actually halted shipping though

haha felt like it was stuck in transit forever - I've probably been spoilt too much with amazons prime same-day and next day deliveries service.

I've just ordered a couple of control arms yesterday as I took the car in Wednesday for the cooler recall and the citnow video showed the front bushes were split and leaking.

Parcel currently in transit, which is good. Touch wood it'll arrive next week.
