USB Video to play full screen? (UPDATE 11/16/15 Solution)
I wanted to have a few dvds ready for when my enet cables comes in and I can do video in motion.
I burned a dvd and tried it in the car today and its pretty bad. Keeps skipping. I am not sure if its my dvd-r disks that I am using or the dvd burner itself, or the dvd software that I am using. Can I play dvds from a memory card? Or is it only through the dvd drive. If its only through the dvd drive than what software is everyone using to burn the disks. All my video files are .mp4 If it can be done through the usb, than what flash drive is everyone using. I feel like if i put a flash drive in the usb and close the arm wrest it will break. Also, if it can be done through the usb than another problem is how do I connect my phone via usb for music? I do not want to keep unplugging something to plug something else in. Can the usb be split? Apologize in advance if that sounded confusing. Thanks Solution UPDATE!! If this was bothering anyone as much as me, here is the solution: Download VidCoder here: http://www.videohelp.com/software/VidCoder In order for videos to be full screen they have to be in 1280x480 resolution. (Pictures with what options to change included) Add video, Change settings, Hit save, Hit encode Copy to USB and enjoy Last edited by powerdbygarrett; 11-16-2015 at 08:19 PM.. |

Problem 1) it does not play in full screen like a dvd does. (see picture) Problem 2) If I use the usb than I cant plug in my phone. There is only one usb port in the car? Correct? |

Try to turn off split screen and see if it for to full screen, if it doesn't it might just be the movie format/extension. Yes the car has one USB port but I used my cigarette lighter with the low profile USB chargers. I only used the armrest USB for media purposes.

Split screen is not turned on. I do not think it is the format/extension of the video because the same video when burned onto a dvd played full screen in the car. I want to keep music and videos separate, so I use the usb in the armrest to hook up my iphone and play music from there. Anyone else have any input on the subject? I'm sure this question must have arose before. I tried searching but a million wrong topics pop up. Thanks |

This is still bothering the crap out of me.
Made a video to explain what I am talking about. When I am in split screen, the video uses the entire half of the screen as if it is full screen. As soon as I turn off split screen the video goes to the middle but not full screen. The zoom option is only available when using dvd's and not playing videos from usb. Videos are on a memory stick and are .mp4 The screen resolution in the car is 1280x480 with an aspect ratio of 16:9. the videos I am using have a resolution of 1280x720 with an aspect ratio of 16:9 The resolution of the videos is more than enough to be full screen. Should even be shrunk down to be full screen. What am I missing? |

Those videos are full screen, they are displaying in 16:9 and thats why you get the black bars on the side, otherwise you would be stretching the aspect and probably won't look good.
I haven't tried a 21:9 yet to see if it uses the whole screen, might do that tonight |

Only other thing I want to try is 21:9 and 2.6:1 and see how that looks. |

I didnt have to code anything either but perhaps older cars or different parts of the world require the coding:
