Replacing foggy Xenon head lamps

Greetings. I have a 335 and my Xenon head lamps are getting foggy. RATHER than trying to sand them down and buy the amazon kit headlamp cleaning kit I wonder if anyone has purchased new ones and simply swapped them out? I could move the bulbs, HID module and everything from the old to the new? Just thinking out loud and seeing if anyone else has done this.

A lamp polishing kit runs $15-$25. New lamps $350-$1k, plus at least that much to install them if you don't do it yourself, which entails removing the bumper.

if you have the time, you can buy new lenses online to swap from the housings.

Yes I plan on doing myself. Removing the bumper isn't that much trouble as I've done it before. What about lenses? Can I just replace the lenses? Got a link where to purchase?

Thanks

Remove both headlights; then with a small block, wet sand them down (600-2000 wet) in an X pattern, reshoot 2K clear coat, reinstall. Total cost ~$40 and a couple hours of work.

From what I hear the lenses on OE BMW headlights don't come off without a SERIOUS fight. There's a video somewhere YouTube where they end up doing essentially more damage to the housing than it's worth.
