B46 330i dual exhaust conversion

Just FYI to those of you thinking about switching your exhaust from single side twin (330) to symmetric (340) - it's a pretty simple fit as long as you cut your stock exhaust at the dimple. No modification needed, exhaust hangers line up perfectly and a clamp is incorporated into the MPE. For the B46, the diameter from the muffler to midpipe is 80mm. So the 328 MPE will not fit on the 330 without some modification (ask me how I know).

If you want to save a couple bucks, order the M240 MPE which is exactly the same from a fitment perspective as the 340 MPE. Parts used were:

18-30-2-424-608 M Performance Exhaust (note a dummy plug is included as there is no flap actuator on the MPE)
51-19-2-291-414 Rear diffuser

Sounds great!

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 335 does have the exhaust valve/flap, however the 340 (LCI) does not. I remember seeing that somewhere on the forum the other day.

what happens if you don't cut at the dimple and cut near the muffler cuz that's what the guy did when he did mine and he welded it

Nothing at all. It's a cut pipe that's been welded together…

Amazon sells exhaust diffusers pretty cheap. I got one unpainted and had a local shop paint it BMW jet black with a clear coat top coat finish.

Video of the exhaust:
