Is there a way to bench test the stock wastegate actuator?

Asking because I'm trying to diagnose these 2 codes:

123701 - Electric Wastegate, Position Sensor, Electrical: Short Circuit to B+

120408 - Charging pressure control, Deactivation, Pressure Build Up Blocked

Basically trying to narrow down if it's the wastegate actuator itself or the DME(like BMS's JB4 Map sensor ground fault).

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

If you're local to one of the aftermarket turbo companies you might be able to get them to test it.

I once responded to a seven-year old "for sale" thread on e90post.

I bought the item (custom interior trim).

These guys are just looking for help on a problem; the forums are great potential archives for that information.

To those looking for help: have you looked at used turbos for your model on eBay?

On an N55, a new EWG is like $500-$600; however, you can find the complete used turbo (EWG included) on eBay for $300-$400.

Maybe that's a start?

Don't point out how horrible and unhelpful I can be.
