Tyre Pressures
I have a 2019 430iM Sport Coupe with Goodyear run flat's 225/40 R19 93Y front & 225/35 R19 96Y rear. When I collected it from the dealer in 2/20 (with 19 miles on the odometer) the TPMS showed the fronts were 2.2 bar & rears 2.4 bar so assumed these were the correct pressures & kept them at these levels. It was in for its first oil service 5/21 and it was given a "complementary Health Check" including checking tyres and all was said to be fine. A recent puncture meant I had to have a tyre repaired & according to the plate on the drivers door the pressures should be 2.4 & 2.9 respectively. This equates to 35 psi & 40 psi. So it appears I have been driving around with underinflated tyres for 18 months. What do other members have their pressures set to? Thanks.

I've settled on 2.7 bar cold all round with my 335d estate. It's a heavy car that usually has 100kg+ in the boot, and gets driven reasonably hard on country roads. This pressure goes up to 3.0/3.1 bar warm/hot and gives good steering feel and chassis balance. Tyre wear seems pretty even with 19" PS4S's fitted.

Similar here. The door plates state different recommended pressure to that of the TPMS?
Strange too, it one day decided it didn't recognise my tyres? so i went through the reset and it decided the pressure they have been since owning were too low |

I run mine at the recommended door plate pressures. When the car was in last week for its first service at 8k miles they reported 3.5mm on the central rear treads but 4.7mm on the inner/outer tread. Their assessment was that the tyres were overinflated. So either the tyre pressure gauge at the garage I use regularly is rubbish, or the door plate chart is wrong.....

I ran my tyres at 35Psi cold. They eventually heat up and go to 37/38psi.
Then I experimented a lower pressure of 32psi (PS4 non rf) and this was mostly for comfort as with lower pressure car certainly felt less harsh on the road and seem to deal well with potholes and bumps, but I did noticed my tyres were goosed that same year. Front edges completely worn, while middle of the tyres is still very good. I put it down to experience and too low of a tyres pressure |

Cold 2.6 front (38psi), 2.8 rear (41psi) with 19's, rft Bridgerocks.
I overinflate at the station then let down the following morning when they're stone cold with my trusted gauge (which disagrees with the tpms by +2psi) Just done 28000 on the first set, fronts still have 5+mm, rears are 3+mm with even wear across the tread on both ends.

I've just got my car back from BMW after it's 3year health check. All tyres were at 33psi cold and increased to 37psi on the 20+ mile drive home.
I'm assuming they checked them all ? |
