2016 320i track handling package brakes
Hello all,
My son has a 2016 320i with the track handling package that he has owned since new. With 80k miles, the rotors and pads need to be replaced. I have an excellent mechanic that we have known and trusted for years that will do the work, but the dealership wants $1,895 for parts (rotors, pads, sensors). The car does have the blue M-sport calipers and it does have slightly larger rotors that came as part of the track handling package. I did not anticipate when we were ordering the car that these would be so expensive to replace. Has anyone been down this road? Is there an equal alternative at a more reasonable cost? I always opt for oem, but close to $2000 for brake parts just seems excessive. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thank you! Jeff |

I’d say that’s on par with just about any German luxury car in terms of brakes. Rotors tend to be the expensive part. It’s not hard to spend over 3k on just rotors alone depending on the brand and design/construction.
That being said… You can always just buy the OE parts for significantly cheaper prices on Rock Auto or FCP Euro. The kits for the M-Sport brakes are Zimmerman which are good quality OE rotors that would be a direct replacement. OEM parts branded BMW are always gonna cost more. |
