Can't make me mind up, folks
It's on a Carbon Black 440i GC, with MPPSK carbon tips on exhaust Options are: - leave unpainted, so matte grey - paint in Carbon Black, all or leaving fin section unpainted - paint in Jet Black (gloss) as per M Sport exterior trim - again, all or leaving fin section unpainted What do you reckon? Decisions, decisions....

Carbon w raw fins. You could also try hydro dipping CF as an additional option.

The diffuser isn't carbon, by the way, it's a dark grey matte polyurethane, I think

Right - hence the dip suggestion. My paint suggestion was to match your car's paint but leave the fins in the dark grey raw finish.

Carbon black but leave the center where the fins are matte black for contrast.

I dont care for the look of raw black plastic or maintaining it compared to a painted surface so I say paint it, something...
it doesn't make too much of a difference here because of your cars color but personally, I'd do carbon black with gloss black center, all gloss black or all carbon black in that order. |

Thanks for the feedback, guys
Am getting my OEM diffuser painted Carbon Black to match the bodywork, apart from the fin area which I'm leaving unpainted. Cheapest quote by far for painting was from a BMW dealer, much to my surprise!?

Do you have the side skirt extensions as well? And if so did you paint those or leave them as is. If you have then I feel these 2 items should be the same finish for continuity. It's unfortunate bmw doesn't offer the diffuser in carbon yet they have the deck lid spoiler, mirror caps and front lip in carbon. |

Didn’t think about leaving fins unpainted. Would have to think about it, but I like the current look....at least for now. Agreed. That would be my first choice. Last edited by IK6SPEED; 06-24-2018 at 02:27 AM.. |

The only reason I've gone for the M Perf rear diffuser in the first place is because I have the MPPSK installed and it blends in with the larger exhaust tips better than the stock diffuser, IMO
