if the insurance doesnt pay for the headlights, why not talk to the shop and have them order the light (DEPO) for the replacement using the money from the new/refurb headlamp?

OT: how much are stock headlamps anyways?
OT2: theres in interesting thread in the general section about telling your insurance company about the aftermarket parts.

When you say "wing damage" you mean fender?

If so...

You paid $4k for a bumper, reflector and halogen headlight replacement (with paint)?!

That's a hosing if Ive ever heard of one!

At least they left note.
Lol it’s a big deal to me

Yeah you right it could have been a lot worse and they could have just left. The fender was close to hitting the hood.

One OEM halogen is probably the same amount as both depo.

I will definitely work with the shop and the insurance if they let me to get my car back to how it was. There is a local selling a sport bumper for 250 that I wouldn’t mind having instead of stock.

I didn't pay, not at fault... but my hood was replaced too, plus one of the grills - I sourced 2 estimates and both at a similar pricing. Sorry reverted to English/ English on the fender/ wing reference.

FYI the headlight was $1200 odd on its own...

Wow about the head light.

All of thus is just more of an inconvenience to me. I am sure it will all work out in the end but it’s just a pain for me to deal with.

Fair enough. Hood definitely jacks up the cost.

Glad you didnt have to come out of pocket.

Yep that was pricy... I too now have Depo's and said headlight is in my basement

I think is was around 4 days for mine due to the paint... and I got to drive a Chrysler 300 for the duration...didn't hate it but much prefer the BMW so at least you'll appreciate getting you car back.

Best of luck with the repairs.

I do have to say that leaving a note in this instance renews one's faith in inhabitants of this planet. The same thing happened to me as well albeit without a note.

While I had the husband and wife on the phone I thanked both of them for leaving a note and being so helpful.

Last time I got hit and we pulled off the road and the person took off before I could get any info from him

I respect people who leave a note after damaging your vehicle. I've never been that lucky.

The only note I ever got was an "F. U." note saying it was my fault for parking in the wrong part of the space. No name; no phone. (I was right in the middle.)

As bad as it is at least they left a note. I parked my car at the airport a year back left two for two days and came back with 2800.00 in damages and no note. The airport would not release the video because there was no injury to a person.
