I just finished installing front and back Akebonos in my gray calipers because I just could not stand the dust from the OE pads. I did not change the rotors since I still had plenty of life left.
EUR1880 & EUR1610 fit very nicely and come with sensors in the box. It is too early to comment on noise but so far so good.

Thanks for the feedback on the R1 pads.
Update on my R1 Ceramic Pads on M Sport (blue) brake. They're much louder these days. Brakes are loud enough to wake up neighbors in the morning after cold start. Quite embarrassing piercing ears when I pull out of parking lots as well. Sort of goes away after very hard braking but it's a nuisance. Constantly find myself trying to brake softly so that my car doesn't turn heads (in a bad way). They squeal super loud after about 4 months now and almost seem to be getting worse. They were quiet for the first month. R1 offered to replace, so props to their customer service, but I am wary of bothering with the labor of putting the same pads back on my car. Pretty happy with low brake dust and quality of braking though.

Considering the Akebono's now if anyone has feedback with those on M Sport Brake.

Yikes. Thanks for the update.

As I mentioned, I've got the Akebonos, but not installed. This cold weather doesn't give me much enthusiasm to get in the garage.

I only have the Akebonos for about two weeks but there is virtually no brake dust, no noise and no noticeable difference in performance from stock. There may be better brake pads out there but, if you are just looking to replace your pads with less dust and similar OEM performance for the money, you cannot go wrong with Akebono.

I went with the EBC Redstuff ceramic pads on my M-perf brakes and have had no noise, perfect grab, and hardly any dust. I just ordered the M-sport set and they worked perfectly. Just thought I'd add the recommendation for EBC pads for you guys having trouble.

Anyone else install them?

I decided to pull the trigger on the EUR1880 / EUR1656. I think the compound in the R1 Ceramics is just too cheap. I should've invested more than $25 + sensors per axle from the get-go anyway
I noticed that the description for the EUR1880 mentions sensors are included, but EUR1656 does not mention anything about sensors being included. Did the EUR1656 from Rockauto include sensors?

Thanks for the review, did you keep your old rotors or swap them out as well?

Yes they did, I actually answered this earlier in the thread too.

I used the same rotors since I had plenty of life left on them. As far as the pads, both boxes had sensors included. Still very happy with the pads.

So, installed the brakes with the Akebono Pads about a week ago and have put ~150 miles on them so far. I have to say I do notice a slight decrease in initial bite but nothing major for me. My stock brakes used to squeal when backing out of the driveway and I don't get that anymore.

Brake dust has reduced a noticable amount, I've washed my wheels a couple times since installation and I would say there is about a third to a quarter of the amount of dust compared to stock. Dust is still there but not as much, plus with my bronze wheels I can't really tell anyway.

A few days ago I think my driver's front has developed sort of a judder/clunking on moderate braking. Probably not related directly to the type of pads. Still trying to figure that out, will take a look in a day or two. I don't see anything on the rotors and I feel like the sound happens before a complete rotation of the tire so I'm thinking the pads may be vibrating/moving so I'll pull them out and add more grease. The amount that came in the box was pretty minimal so adding a tiny bit more might help.

Installing the Akebono Pads and Zimmerman rotors today...fingers crossed everything fits correctly for my blue M Sport brakes.

Update: Everything worked out perfectly, brakes are silent so far and stopping feels good. Old OEM rotors were glazed.
For anyone looking to change their blue M-Sport (or M-Perf) Brakes /w 370mm & 345mm rotors, I went with:
Akebono EUR188 and EUR1656 pads - from Rockauto
Zimmermann 150 2919 20 (x2) and 150 2911 20 (x2) rotors - from Newparts (also Partscontainer on eBay)

So I started to work on my brake noise yesterday.

Took out driver side pads, cleaned and regreased. Noise remained.

Today I took driver side pads out, cleaned/regreased stock pads and reinstalled stock pads on the driver side. Cleaned rotor too for good measure. Noise gone.

Reinstalled Akebono pads in driver side, maybe cleaning rotor had something to do with it? I had planned to switch the driver side pads from inner to outer but I lost track when I took them out.. Anyway noise returned.

Took driver and passenger sides out and switched them. Noise gone.

I only took it for like a quarter mile drive around the block so.. the noise might come back... But so far it's gone.

I never took a video but this was the closest noise I could find on Youtube.

I just purchased Akebono EUR1880 for my 2014 BMW 328i xDrive with the M-sport package. I got them from Pep Boys for $154.99 with a $60 mail in rebate. They offer a lifetime warranty and the labor was $125. They said they could not use my old original OEM rotors that had 69K miles on them so I also purchased Prostop Brake Rotors from them for $173.98. So total out the door with shop fee was under $500. The nice thing with the Akebono is you don't have to break them in like other brake pads. The car stops much better than the original factory brakes pads and rotors and my dealer was going to charge me $1200.

For reference, this is what the dust is like for the M-Perf pads

I was on a long road trip, got out of my car at rest stop, and saw wonderful red-brown wheels instead of gloss black.

For normal city driving, the dust generation isn't too bad. But aggressive stopping, or stopping from highway speeds... I wonder if the driver behind me sees a dust cloud when I brake?

That brown dust drives me crazy, it ruins the look of the wheels. All about the Akebono ceramic ones now

I see a lot of people with M Sport brakes. But anyone with actual M Perf brakes have a solid part number that fits for front pads and the rear pads?

The M Perf brakes are the same size as the M Sport Brake package (blue caliper). This is discussed earlier on in the thread.

If you have 345 / 370mm rotors it's the same.

And the 340 rotors as well (Grey or Blue). All these calipers are essentially the same 4piston brembo. The carriers (they look like ears) are different lengths.

Any suggestions on where I could find the EUR1880 & EUR1656? Nowhere seems to have them in stock. Tried RockAuto, TireRack, and other online retailers with no luck. Even tried local auto stores PepBoys, Advance Auto etc. Have they been discontinued?
