Can this be done with our cars?

Of course, very simple. Make sure the engine is warm so that the oil in the transmission is warm too. Unscrew the upper plug (just to make sure you can before letting the oil down and then realizing that you can't) then unscrew the bottom one and let it drain. Plug the bottom one (torque to spec whatever it is) and then pump your fresh transmission oil through the top hole till it overflows and you are done. Don't forget to screw the top in too.

Yea, a flash. I have seen threads about people doing it to their E90s. And i wonder if it can be done with our cars since there is a f30 alpina b3 available.

Alpina transmission software is not working good of f-serie. I tried it last year. You can trust me that it is not good idea because you can't drive with alpina software. For e-series it is still a good option

There sure is, check out AutoFlash from TMC Motorsports. Some users claim it works wonders while others say it's snake oil. Sounds like the holy grail for software tuning:

Tuning for Automatic Geared Vehicles
Remap the engine ECU and gearbox TCU
Increases performance/torque and 50% Faster Gear Shifts
Complete in less than 3 Minutes
Plugs into OBD Diagnostic Socket
Not Dealer Traceable
Reusable if Dealer Flashes New Software

http://www.tmcmotorsport.com/AutoFlash.aspx?SID=64677

And if you'd like the U.S. (rebranded) version, look here: https://www.vividracing.com/catalog/...150786090.html

Only 900 bucks, let us know how it goes!

Ehh, that seems so sketchy. Wouldnt BMS or Dinan come out with the same concept of tune if this were to work?

It does seem a bit sketchy, but some people have tried it and swear their car is faster/better. I've seen some dynos showing a small improvement in torque and datalogs indicate less lag between shifts. I'm not entirely sure how this works, but I think the stock tune limits the amount of engine torque applied to the transmission for whatever reason (i.e. component longevity, smooth operation, etc.). I might consider it if it was half the price, but $900 is quite steep.

Dinan actually does offer transmission tunes on some older E-series models at $150-$200, but nothing for the F-series...yet. There seem to be plenty of SMG/DCT tunes out there from other tuners though.

Do you know the reason why the Alpina flash won't work properly for f30 models?

Next week will try to compare gearbox flash from m235i vs 335i.. Maybe m235i have some quicker shifts but not sure..

Also if it will be possible to know flash number of m235i racing version we can try to use it in f30.. I guess that m235i racing must have quicker shifting..

Because alpina b3 has modded n55 engine with 2 turbos and f30 335i has single-turbo n55 with no modes.. All transmission software for bi-turbo cars is not working good on single-turbo cars

I can't speak to the F30, but in my E84 w/N55 and the 6AT I ran the B3 flash without any issues.

I dont understand. Doesn't the f30 B3 have the same ZF transmission as our cars. Why would there be compatibility issues aside from the fact that the new B3 is Bi Turbo
