It really seems like the new cars as well as the f8x cars have too much power for 2 driven wheels off a dig :

If only the m-xdrive was going to be available with the manual
Really?

You’re contemplating a heavy ass, pig nose M car that is going to depreciate like crazy and sounds worse than our lovely N55’s?

You can download CSV files from BM3 logging platform and from datazap, you don't need them to upload the CSV file anywhere else.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I saw more and more N55 guys started upgrading the HPFP and a lot still on the stock turbo, so I thought it would be a great idea to have a proper OTS map for these cars so users could really take advantage of their upgraded HPFP.

Loaded this up this morning on the way to work. Didn’t get a chance to log yet, will do it at lunch most likely. I’m on stock turbo still. Definitely a VERY noticeable difference over stage 2. Much stronger midrange and some up top. No issues so far. I like it.

Just read through that thread. I saw two logs, hoping to see some more, especially if someone has a log on the stage 2 map then the stage 2+ map on the same car.

In one of the logs STFTs are quite negative and it looks like you need basically 100% WGDC after 6500 rpm to try and maintain boost target. https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5f86...729b488dc3d3ee

In the other log STFTs are also a bit negative (but not as much). Didnt rev to redline so not sure if WGDC would be as high to try and hold 20psi to redline
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5f4e...729b1274224f7a

*Don't interpret these as criticisms merely observations

These are both M2s I'm assuming and I want to confirm so we are all on the same page, does the M2 have a different turbo manifold than F3x or not?

Yeah, the map is squeezing every last drop out of the stock turbo, and differing supporting mods bn cars will impact the logs.

I believe the M2 has a slightly better flowing turbo fold?

Here’s a log of mine on revision 6 of working with Halim. A few comments: 1. This isn’t the final OTS, I need to load that and get a couple more logs this weekend. 2. You can see some tiny micro hiccups in power/MAF bc my plugs were gapped too tight, opened them up closer to stock and power issues went away. 3. It was a warmer day.

So, my new OTS logs should be a little peppier than this: https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5f32...90c648c04e0d8d

Comes back to the turbo manifold question. I hear it tossed around that the M2 N55 one is different, but I have never seen any confirmation. That would be the main consideration, aside from varying mods between cars and atmospheric conditions of course.

Of note, the two logs i linked, both had slightly positive logged positive atmospheric pressure, meaning more than standard conditions, which would help meet high boost targets.

Here’s my first log on the OTS map, and in cooler weather with no plug gap issues. All I can say is wow! Incredibly smooth and lots of power!

https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5f8b...729b488dc3e100

I’m FBO with the Dinan turbo, which helps more with upper RPM under the curve, and not as much about adding peak power.

Nice, looks similar to the others in terms of some negative STFTs. WGDC is a bit lower (maybe 5-10% range) so that turbo is definitely helping.

Thanks thejeremyman9

Found this again but saw it before saying that it is a higher flowing exhaust manifold & also more efficient intake plumbing:

https://www.bmwblog.com/2016/07/28/b...ven-better-m2/

Relevant part: "The M2 also gets a new exhaust manifold and intake plumbing for its N55 engine, allowing for better airflow. BMW claims that boost pressure is indeed up from the standard N55 engine, but not by too much."

Thanks, just read that article. I am curious what they mean by intake plumbing... pretty sure the inlet and intake are the same (looks so in their picture too), unless they mean the MPPK airbox bottom, but that's not exclusive to the M2 N55, it would be any MPPK equipped car.

Good to see movement in the N55 still. Nice work.

Nice. On a Dynojet?

I dyno’ed 15whp less than a PureBoost custom tuned XDI-35 PS2 M2 on 93 with this map, same dyno same day. That was with a beta version of this OTS while tracking down some misfire issues (plugs gapped too tight).

Car feels faster, so I’m guessing I’ll be 5-10whp less on my next dyno run. We’ll see.
