Just wanted to leave this here for those curious how EcoPro Sailing (Coast function) works when coded.

Note that with the updated (2014 - variante_2 in coding) Charge and Power Meters, it shows if the vehicle is "Sailing" when the needle goes to rest position and area around it lights up blue as you can see in the video.

PS: It seems very laggy as the video demonstrates. Give or take between 1-5 seconds before vehicle engages drive from neutral sometimes. Overall it works and will give it another day or two before I come to a verdict.

Also have F020-13-11 I-Step level

I'd also appreciate an update to the BMW Coding application with all the new codes.

I am not sure about F30, but on F10 LCI, I believe EGS has an additional motor to keep transmission fluid moving during Sailing. I'd be leery of enabling this on a pre LCI F10 without it. I am not sure about F30 EGS though.

Just wanted to test it out. Also still analyzing the difference between 12-13 and 14 F30s in terms of mechanical, given it was enabled for 14 MY.

EDIT:

Had a quick glance between the 2011 535xi, 2014 535xi and the 2013 (07/12 Build - like mine, part number same for 14 model) 328xi at the mechatronics (EGS as stated by the Service manual).

2011 has a part number that is discontinued and would require a remanufactured transmission instead - 84210300309

Both the 2014 535xi and the 2013 (7/12) 328xi require the same mechatronics for the transmission - 24347647840

Though for the F30, Torque Converters are the same part numbers, while the transmission changes part numbers every few production runs.

I got a problem with the "SOS call system failiure" displayed in the kombi and added to the Check Control list on the HU.

I retrofitted an NBT and was coding the kombi and NBT. The only combination I think would have triggered this I think would be 6AA Teleservices and 6AB Control for Teleservices.
(I do not have a teleservice/TCU combox). However the warning still hasn't gone off even though kombi and NBT was re-coded without them. Anyone know how to turn it off?

I guess it is a myth.

You can try to set NBT > ECALL_INSTANCE_ID to wert_1.

I have read this entire forum in the last 3 days. Shawn, you rock. I just bought a 2014 535i Modern Line. I read that they disabled the iPhone/iPod video function. That will be one of my goals to reinstate if possible. But for now, may I humbly ask Shawn the Almighty for the link to the e-sys, token, and data files along with any suggestions on where I could buy the cable? Thanks in advance.

Coded it out, given the software is either incomplete or as a result of the Transmission being a "different" part number, not being very smooth sometimes. Also stalled on me once when I was braking to a traffic light. Probably was trying to engage a higher gear and ended up not being able to maintain engine rpms. Resulted in two warnings (which went away of course), ASS Deactivated and Vehicle Not in Park. Note, this only is for EcoPro and would not "coast" outside of that mode, so it's good for testing only. Maybe when the I-Step is updated, may be refined to the point that it's usable in 12-13MY.

After removing those codes, added Digital Speedometer, DVD in Motion and Active Brake Force Display (blinking).

Thanks svache for the instructions.

Especially shawnsheridan for the links, instructions and answering a lot of PM back and forth with me.

You guys are awesome!!

I was a newbie on coding, with the help from you guys now I'm able to coded my car with:

- DVD in motion
- Digtial Speed to BC function list
- Windows/Mirror fold with comfort access/fob
- Configurable Sport Mode
- Individual tire temperature and pressue in TPMS display
- Enhance Bluetooth (6NH to 6NK)

So far these are the only stuff that I would like to add

If I'm reading it correctly, you're in Canada right?

Canadian models were only equipped with FTM (Flat Tire Monitor) which compares rotational differences with the ABS Sensor.

Or in other words, check if your tire valve stems are either metal or rubber, rubber being FTM and metal being TPMS.

yes i coded it, but it didn't show the tire pressure value
went for a drive earlier and found out it doesn't show. So I will code it back to default.

Oh two (or three) separate things.

2TB Sport auto - Sport automatic logic. Since my 328 wasn't equipped with the Sport Auto, it doesn't have the nicer shifter, paddle shifters or the sport logic. Once programmed in, shifts are "supposed" to be quicker especially in DS or Manual, also lets you have more control in Manual.

LC - Launch Control. Self explanatory

RTTI RDS-TMC - Real-Time Traffic Info thru RDS FM. Though I've only been able to pick up US traffic information for some reason. Might have something to do with BMW's agreement with the stations in Canada or just an additional field.

No. EDIABAS is not needed for E-Sys, else it would have been included.
