Ive had my f30 8 months and the Engine Management (emmisions) light has illuminated. ive had the code read with ISTA+ and it comes up with
Hot film mass meter : Signal open or short circuit to B+/earth. The car itself has no difference in drive no erratic idle or stalls i have tried a mates Maf sensor then wiped the code but then after a few starts it shows its face again. Could it need maybe the EGR valve cleaning maybe to car has done about 140000 motorway miles up and down the country. im at a loss now as i thought it would be a straight MAF sensor swap but unplugging the maf sensor changes nothing.

Any help would be great

Did you find the solution to this issue? I have the same problem.

I was in the local BMW dealer where replace the Hot-film air-mass meter and made some kind of force DPF regeneration. Expensive procedure for nothing. The "check engine" light was off for a few days. Then it lit up again.
