I will take the Modern interior with the M-sport exterior.

Unfortunately it looks like that won't be possible.

i dont know how many of you will agree...but bmw has gone a bit too far with all those flows of lines stuff. I mean ok I love how they manage to create these flow on the outside, but bring back that german feeling back. make a solid, rude, looking car and give aesthetics with simple touches. This thing looks too much french. Too much detailed. Too spoiled. and the interior. I cant even start with the gauges. looks like Peugeot. and the dashboard Citroen. or am I just exaggerating.

I'm not a fan of the verbose side badges as it is, and thought someone should have been fired for putting the "XDrive" side badges on the X's... but this is beyond absurd. I would be embarrased to have any of those badges on my car. I'd have to bring the dental floss with me take delivery.
totally agree.

The new 3 series looks really nice, I like the direction BMW is taking with their cars.

I agree with what LEDZEP is saying about the sport, luxury, and modern side badges; As if people don't think BMW owners are pretentious enough.

Also, please BMW spend a couple of dollars and buy some cloth to cover up those door bins, nothing screams luxury like hard plastic door bins.

Let me start off by saying it is good in terms that they have included more options/features in this model, which was expected.

That being said, I do not know why they went cheesy with 3 variants and called them modern, sport and luxury. A BMW 3 series (and any BMW for that matter) should embody all these features in one single car, so I don't understand why they segregated them in this manner. I think it is plain cheesy of them and a poor management decision.

Exterior:

The way the lights extend and merge in to the grill is awkward and ruins the aesthetics of the front. No, it does not look mean; it looks awkward and unsightly. If they wanted to expose the grill, they could have done it in a better way.

Hood line should have extended all the way to the headlights and the grill instead of being cut off. That cut off hood line looks awful.

It does not make sense to have those badges on the side - Modern, Sport and Luxury. Terrible.

The fog lights and the surrounding fog light trim look cheap and plastic.

The rear lights are similar to a 5 series, but executed not as well, with the wedge cut off at the bottom inner ends.

Interior:

M Sport package with the body-colored line across the dash. Seriously? What is this? A VW Beetle? Or a luxury-sport sedan?

M Sport steering wheel - I am not driving a roadster here.

Navigation screen - badly executed. So much better in 5, 6 and 7 series.

Cup holders and covers - bad placement of cup holders, terrible finish on the cup holder covers.

I hope they do a better execution of the new 3 series coupe. I'll have mine with Sport, Modern and Luxury all wrapped in one, please, without a badge on the outside to tell me what the car personifies. I shall let the BMW badge do the talking. Thank you.

That looks MUCH better. I wish that is what they had done with this car (and the 5, 6 and 7). Now if you could please remove that ugly gray plastic looking trim around the fogs.

At first blush, I'm so very glad I purchased a 2011..... I'll reserve final judgement until I see it in person, but I agree w/ Blake P - the headlight treatment looks like, "hey, let's save a nickel's worth of paint and use plastic instead."

maybe it's just me, but there's something about the front of the car that reminds me of the Bugs bunny character Beaky Buzzard:

We all know very well BMW saves the best front styles for the M cars, so be happy if the F3x series doesnt look plain ugly in front.

I completely agree. The car looks pretty good, but that straight line across the front of the hood looks awful. The hood should have extended to the kidney grills like on other models.

Wonder how long it'll be before a 3rd party makes a paint matched snap in adapter to fill in the ugly hole next to the kidneys.

And I, too, wish they'd go back the the kidneys being part of the hood. Why, BMW, why? That line is so ugly - and pointless - which makes it worse.

I love it! I definitely see the resemblance to the F10, but way more aggressive!

I have to see in person to make a judgement, but I am worried about gap in between grille and angel eyes.

I think either red or black will look best on this car.
And I am the white sorta car buyer.
But we shall see, hopefully soon in coupe version too!
