I tried it on my DCT and it never worked for me Chris, how long do you have to pull them both for?
I must confess I had never needed jt as the gear-lever so easily assimilates it.

Perhaps it was just an urban myth!

When I read the PDKS on the GT3 did it I thought I'd try it on the DCT but no dice when I pulled the paddles together.

I can't try it now as I don't have the car, but wondered at the time if you could do it you could select neutral on the paddles raise the revs to 2.5k and pull a paddle to select first giving you a mini launch control without the need for the standard LC procedure but I couldn't get it to work. (Yes I know that's all utterly pointless)

Neutral trick doesnt work but seems a bit pointless anyway.

The other 2 paddle tricks work but again, dont see the point.

Garage List
Maybe there's some coding needed to support it?

I think there were members of the Sentinelese tribe that knew about this feature before you.

So the paddles only swap the mode when in normal mode. If you've got the stick to the left it does nothing

Does not work for me. June 2015 model.

However... if you want to drop to the lowest gear just listen to the engine, look at the rev counter and use the the paddle shifter to click 1-3 gears in an instant. I don't see what pulling on the shifter and waiting for the lowest gear to engage would give you in terms of control.

Everyone has driven a manual right?

I gave this a try on both our cars today, works on my wife’s 2015 F30 320d (LCI), but doesn’t on my 2014 F06 640d GC

I quite like the way it works and can see how it’s useful, although I get that you could just drop down the ‘right number’ of gears by looking at the gear indicator on the dash and knowing which gear would be most appropriate.

Tried this for the first time, both in the left and right paddles. Found this only works in Drive and not Sport. Good to know though.

I never use the paddles or the stick.
I bought an auto so that I don't have to change gear.

Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view's and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.
