Clutch feels weird after replacement

Hey guys,

So I recently took my 2013 335i 6MT to get the clutch and flywheel replaced at 73.5k miles due to it slipping. Took it to a local BMW specialist shop and replaced with OEM quality brand, Luk, parts. I got it back and the clutch was very light which I expected to stiffen up after driving for a few hundred miles, which it did. The only thing is that pressing on the clutch was a bit different than I remember. Basically what's going on is that whenever I'm pressing the clutch, that last inch or so that I'm pressing I have to press harder. It feels like added pressure/resistance if that makes sense. Anyways, wanted to get your thoughts on what it could be, if it's normal or whatever. Like I said, it's that last inch or so that I have to press harder for it to go all the way down. It drives fine, but having to press harder for that last inch is getting a bit annoying. If I press it really hard then I can barely feel it but I don't want to feel like I'm at the gym working on my legs. Let me know! Thanks in advance!

By the way, it does it when the car is on or off. It does not matter. I've checked to see if there is something blocking it but no luck

I wonder if it is too tight. How much free play?

Off topic. Roughly, what did it cost for replacement?

Not sure but if I had to guess, it would be about 1/2". I'm able to press the pedal and it moves in slightly before going all the way in

So I paid about $1050 in parts and $850 in labor. I also had them replace the rear main seal as a preventative measure

Took the car back in so the shop can take a look and they found out that the stop was broken and the added pressure that I was feeling was the spring in the pedal over exerting. They fixed in house and my clutch is back to feeling like normal. Weird this happened right after the replacement but glad I was able to get it fixed.

Thanks for providing an update, it's nice for the future when/if someone Google searches the same problem in the future so that they can get an idea of where to look as opposed to a thread where the OP doesn't update with the solution.

Glad you were able to pinpoint the issue and get it fixed!
