I agree, with the leather dash/doors it feels 100x more luxurious. Near C class levels even. Should have made it an option on 328i and standard on 340i with the lCI

Very nice combo. Congrats.

Why does it have the old style idrive knob? All the new ones are bigger and have a touch pad.

anyway, very nice. i have those 626 wheels on my gc as part of the individual line.
It's a 3 series that is having a 40th anniversary. Not the 320

So the 40th package only adds the wheels and leather dash? What else?? I guess that's a good start, the 320 loaner that I had was one of the worst BMWs I've ever been in fit and finish wise.

That's only in USA, when you go outside 320i is the pretty loaded and well finished and powerful cause it's not the entry line 3 Series
even 316i comes with options cause they cost a lot more

Congrats on your new car, it's really awesome!
Like the color and the leather dash

It has the business Nav system which doesn't come with the touch pad I-drive knob.

very nice! that's the car that I would want to buy myself!

How large is the screen? Seems to be a 10.2" one instead of 8.8"?

hi guys

thanks for all the great replies.
here are a few more pics.

the 40year edition cost an additional 3000 us dollars. they only manufacturing 400 cars (including all model variants - 320 330 and 340)
the package includes M Sport pack, individual wheels, choice of 3 paint finishes, Harmon kardon, satinised exterior trim, telematics and online services, oyster leather and leather covered dash and door trims.

I like the improvements on the motor and suspension on the lci.
car rides very smooth for a 320.

regards

That absolutely is not the case, the 316/318/320 is the entry level 3 series all over the world. Outside of the U.S. You can even get it without power windows! This 40 yr anniversary edition is essentially a 328i. Most of the options on this edition are not available on the regular 320 worldwide..,,so that is the difference here

I know this particular model is a special edition, but out of USA, BMW 320i comes usually fully loaded (even more than the 328i we have here) cause it has a high price range anyway, so adding features to the car makes it more appealing to customers.

Believe me I've seen many 316i and 320i loaded more than US 335i
When you say 316i is the entry model it's far not the 320i (some places 320i cost 20,000$ more than 316i)

U.S. pricing is not everywhere.

Say what? 40th A, very cool indeed! Its missing one option, an Ak47 on the passenger seat. I wouldn't dare drive SA, in a nice car like that, alone
Good luck and enjoy the new ride.

Don't believe everything you hear in the news buddy. I live in an area where according to Guinness has the most amount of German cars per square kilometer. I would not trade SA for anything in the world. We have beautiful weather, a very diverse culture and there are good people. Every country has some rotten eggs within their community.
Just google wild coast and you will understand how beautiful this country is.

I was reserving judgement until I actually saw real-world photos but damn, such a disappointment that BMW switched to LED from the xenons. I'm sure they're efficient or whatever but it cheapens the look dramatically and looks weird when you have the corona rings.
