2015 335i xDrive Hose coming off intake snapped.. What is it??

Hey, looking for help.. does anyone know what this line is? In terms of part number or description? Trying to find it online and not having any luck. I've seen suggestions of a fuel breather line or vacuum line?..[IMG][/IMG]

My line snapped on the other side that you can't see in this photo.. need to get a new one.

Car is a 2015 335i xDrive, thank you!

it's a vacuum line related to the automatic models, I have a 6mt and don't have that line, just a plug in my intake.

Thanks a lot! Not familiar with this part totally.. would you say the car shouldn't be driven till it's changed? What's its severity?

Because it's behind the MAF, I would at least tape over the bit of hose going to the intake so it doesn't allow unmetered air in. Other than that, it's an emissions piece. I would get it replaced soon, but not urgently.

Also, this pipe is stupid expensive for what it is... about $90 :/

I would not be driving with that unhooked or broken. That runs on your intake and the charge pipe good call with the real OEM parts, definitely get that part ordered and replaced. Did that break while you were working on it or driving?

If its behind the MAF then wouldnt that be extra air that isnt metered?

Ah right, I overlooked that it attaches to the charge pipe. Probably would leak some boost to atmosphere.

Part number (13907604938) on the hose brings up "Sucking Jet Pump Breather Tube" ....

Edit: Never mind...you already got your answer....

Its going to be a vacuum leak (letting in unmetered air) or a boost leak (letting out metered air from CP side) depending on how you are driving (i.e., whether you are in boost or not).

You can probably plug both openings and drive the car if absolutely necessary, but without knowing exactly how it connects to the EVAP system, i wouldn't. You might end up building pressure in the gas tank, leak fuel fumes under the hood, or something else. No reason to risk it unless its an emergency to drive the car IMO.

Yeah makes perfect sense.. will be getting the OE replacement and installing tomorrow, also doing a few coolant lines and a oil catch can

Now out of curiosity, would this broken line be causing any power loss?

Thanks again to everyone!

I snapped the same line while installing my intake. Its the vapor return line to pull vapors from your gas tank into the engine. I super glued it together and put a sealant around it. I wouldn't leave it exposed, you would be pulling unfiltered air into both your intake manifold and engine.

Since the CP is open and the intake as well I would assume definite power loss. I would listen to Jeremy and try not to drive it until its fixed.

Thanks for the help everyone! Picking up the breather tube today along with the infamous upper coolant hose that always breaks on these cars and also the upper coolant hose from the Rad to the block.. $430 later unfortunately 😂🤬
