F30 Steering Rack Knock Fix
I am looking to get the steering knock on my 2013 F30 repaired. I know there is a part that for £20ish you can get from BMW. However does anyone know anyone who can fit them as I know it is a bit of a job?
I tightened the thrust piece before slightly and it got rid of the knock but I want it doing properly with the new part. I'm in North East England so hope someone knows someone nearby. Thanks. |

If you managed to tighten it, its not much more effort to remove and refit. Just make sure you dont apply the greasy with a mucky finger like this muppet did |

Thanks. I was just worried about the torques and things. I suppose I could just do it to roughly the same tightness.

Hi all, I'm new and as yet not completed this required fix to my F30.
I want to advise everyone (here in the UK) that after trawling the website 'bargain' deals for the correct BMW FB-1 grease/lubricant (prices from £11- £40!), my local $tealership actually sold it (part no.83233208093) at their standard price of £5.93! -3 weeks ago. I only now need to 'borrow' a 3-pin socket tool to start the job from somewhere. |
