2018 340i Cant Pump Gas/Pump Shuts Off
Theres some threads and info on this but not a ton of info…
Replaced tank vent pipe and tank vent valve as a few members have said one or the other has fixed this issue for them. Now im looking at a fuel filler neck at $330 or an evap canister at $345…. Any ideas? At this point im assuming its the filler neck but would like a little more confidence before im up to $1000 for this issue.. Thanks |

Had this issue on my 335i and replaced with a low mileage evap canister off eBay and it fixed the issue.

UPDATE
Replaced fuel filler neck and pumped my first tank at full speed in a long time. Thankfully its fixed now. There is report on this forum of one other 340 owner needing to replace the fuel filler neck so i guess we could say this is a likely solution for this issue. Note for replacement. You will need to remove rear subframe bolts and lower the frame 2-4 inches in order to get the old pipe out and new pipe in. Careful for vent pipe getting pinched in rear frame to body during reassembly as the pipe will be loose, mine got pinched and had to drop frame again 😑 Happy this was it as evap canister was next. Hope this helps people in the future |
