Technically not 100% true, the B8, shares the MLB chassis with the 2011+ Bentley Continental, as well as the C7 A6, the A5, Q5, A7 and A8.

My N54 335i held the break on hills (6spd Manual.) Im pretty sure my 8SPD Sport Auto F30 Does too. I still like an old school handbrake though.
