Some time ago, SCOTT26 said the F32 tail lights would most closely resemble those of the 5GT. Probably referring to the "kink" in the LED light bars, or the entire assembly?

Yes I remember he said they would look like 5GT but flatter and his own sketch seemed to confirm that, but what can be seen underneath the tarp doesn't quite reflect that

Yeah, I see what you mean. I'm really not sure at this point...

One thing that bugs me about all the renders so far, is that NONE get the kidney/headlight transition correct! It's not going to look just like an F30 nose. The lights will connect to the top of the kidneys, then pull away as it goes lower. You can see this on the 5GT (kind of), or the 328i hommage.

SCOTT26's sketches of the nose (side) reflect this clearly.

Done this very quickly... Still puzzling

If these were 18" though the result would approximately equal the E92 length.

Exactly, I noticed this as well. I've done this very grossly based on another member's render just to interpret Scott26's sketch :

They also have tape running around the edges of the lights, so that most likely hides the true outline.

The reason that isn't working is that the car is not perfectly straight across in relation to the camera. If it is pointing towards or away from the camera it will hide the length when measuring it.

This looks promising!

Maybe this has been brought up in the thread before but to me it looks like the back wheel is too much forward in the wheel housing.
But i guess thats going to be fixed on the production cars as this pictured car is only a test car.

Of course they will, why wouldn't they?

I guess the 4er will (globally) get:

420i (184ps)
425i (218ps)
428i (245ps)
435i (320ps?)

420d (184ps)
425d (218ps)
430d (258ps)
435d (313ps)

+ M Performance variant(s) 340ps M440i?? 330ps M440d??

Maybe this car is shorter. It is a 2 door for one and it would look better shorter. They also want to seperate it from the 3 sedan. Being physically different also helps to establish another reason for the increased cost as it is usually more expensive from a production numbers view to have two different wheel bases.

Also it kind of makes sense. 4 series 2 door shorter on its own wheel base, 3 sedan on its longer wheelbase, and 4 Grand Coupe on the stretched 3 series LI wheel base. It starts to visually really separate the cars.

I like it as with the light weight suspension the M version is supposed to be getting and less body to haul around the M4 could have a nice weight loss. Also the 4 series would be a more nibble handler with the shorter wheel base.

The car actually looks smaller than the F30. At least judging from the man standing outside the car. Definitely looks more sexy and more sporty than E92 though on the side pics (compared to the red E92)

If production would begin in July, when could the orders start, after the concept has been revealed?

Also, would the M-sport be available from the start or can we expect a 6 month delay as with the F30?

I'm going to reserve my thought the F32 will be priced well above F30. Time will tell... I don't think BMW will price it beyond it's intended market, look at the E89 Z4, priced too high for the casual sports car enthusiast.

You CANT DO THAT!!! Just because it is a 17" rim does not mean it is exactly 17" in diameter. Rims have a lip that may be as much as 0.75" on BOTH sides.

The F32 is a bit on the short side AND that's a bad angle.

we'll see this car soon enough, in january in detroit. i'm guessing this car will look really aggro with the ///M tech package. can't wait to see if they will go with the upgraded 6 with more power in this first year.

why do they feel it necessary to change the name of the legendary sedan that defined a new class of automobiles, as well as making this brand as widely ubiquitous as it is right now.

The legendary car that defined a whole new class of automobile was a coupe, not a sedan.

Change is inevitable. If BMW still made the E30, they'd be out of business. See also: Lotus.

i'm ALL for design change, but dont change the legendary monicker. it's still "BMW" isn't it, why don't they change the whole entire brands name too if change is what they're after. I just think it's an unnecessary measure taken, just to compete with mercedes or audi. people will respect you if you stick to your guns.
