Hub guidance / spacers
Hi all,
I need to push my wheels out by about 5mm, using non-hubcentric spacers on the rear gave me precisely the sort of issues you'd expect (hit a pothole, they shifted a bit, vibrations at 95). You can't buy 5mm hubcentrics because they won't fit on the original hub guidance but you can buy 12mm hubcentrics and machine them down (what I intend to do. Obviously this will mean I need to shave approximately 7mm off the original guidance. Has anyone got any experience with this? I don't actually know what part of my car the hub guidance is on (please don't tell me the hub!) I want to know exactly what parts I would need to buy and what they cost in order to return the car to stock if I needed to (under warranty). Any advice or links to relevant threads appreciated |

The only ones I can see are thin and non hubcentric or thick and hubcentric. They do a neat solution for 5mm with inbuilt hub extension but only for m3/m4.
Separate hub extensions are not compatible with xDrive. |

Sorry - I may be misusing the term hubcentric... I mean that a flat 5mm spacer will not leave enough of the original hub guidance to support my wheels. I need to extend the guidance either with a combined or separate system.

ok, i don't know of any spacers less than 10mm with built on extensions. the turner hub extenders did not fit on my F36. i have a stud kit and run without extenders. it works fine. good luck and take care with machining a 12.5mm down to a 5mm.

i tried these but it did not fit. i am not sure if there was too much rust on the inside of my hub. if it did fit, i would get these and drill a hole through them for the x-drive front axle shaft. burger has a 10mm with built on extension. you might just want to go to a larger spacer if you want the extention built on. http://www.burgertuning.com/BMW_wheel_spacers.html |
