I actually was going to recommend you do the “service mode” exercise to see if that resets it somehow.

Otherwise…To the dealer.

I didn't change the wipers. The dealer did at my first service after purchasing the car.

I haven't had time to take it in yet. My dealership has no loaners and I am about an hour away. I am scheduled for service in July so hopefully I know then. It's still doing it though and I hate driving my car in the rain.

I am not sure if my problem is similar but I get this annoying speed change when driving in the rain. I set to intermittent and the rain sensor kicks in and the blades are on overdrive and sweeping over the side of the screen. Very noisy too. I ended having to pull the stalk manually to wipe. When I got my bimmercode installed and started coding I managed to set the rain sensor to off. Now it doesn't act crazy when it's raining. Maybe you could try that.

I've skimmed, but didn't see anyone suggest to try tightening them up...maybe they did?

It looks to me like maybe they've slipped a notch on the ferrule. Not sure how to pop the cover off to get to the nut underneath, but it's there somewhere.

Also, as mentioned, a clean windshield helps a lot. My final cleaning is usually with just a mist of water and microfiber towel...no treatment at all.
